"Bas bohot hogaya Ruhi"
(Enough, Ruhi!) Everyone's head turned towards the entrance, where stood Kairav and Muskan. Behind them entered Manish, Swarna and Surekha.
"Mamu? Bumi? Aap dono yaha.." (Uncle? Aunt? You both are here...) Ruhi's eyes laid fixed on the entrance as Kairav and Muskan walked in together.
Kairav's voice faded into silence, his eyes scanning the room's heavy atmosphere like a searchlight probing for answers. Meanwhile, Muskan's gaze drifted to Abheera, seeking her out with a mix of concern and compassion. Her heart twisted, witnessing her niece crumble like fragile glass in Madhaav's protective embrace. Muskan's maternal instincts stirred, yearning to envelop Abheera in a comforting hug. She felt the depth of Abheera's pain, the weight of her shattered dreams and crushed spirit.
"Haan hum. Hume jaise hi pata chala ki Abheera kon hai, humse raha nahi gaya. Foran agaye, lekin aake jo dekha jo suna uske liye humlog taiyaar nahi the. Ye kya kiya tune Ruhi?" (Yes, we. As soon as we found out who Abheera is, we couldn't wait. We came immediately, but what we saw and heard, we weren't prepared for. What did you just do Ruhi?) Muskan's voice trembled, her gaze shifting from Ruhi to Abheera, filled with empathy.
"Bumi aap kehna kya chahti ho? Maine kya kiya?" (Aunt, what do you want to say? What did I do?) Ruhi asked, her voice laced with defiance.
"Kya kiya? Ye kaise baat kar rahi thi tu apni choti behen se Ruhi. Ye maat bhul ki Abheera teri behen hai" (What did you do? How can you talk to your younger sister like that, Ruhi? Don't forget Abheera is your sister.) Kairav questioned, holding Ruhi by her shoulders. Kairav's grip tightened, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Behen my foot. Ye uss khooni Akshara ki beti hai, jisne mujhse meri matashree ko chinn liya. Jab jab isse dekhti hoon bas iski khooni maa yaad aati hai." (Sister, my foot! She's the daughter of that murderer Akshara, who took my mother away from me. Every time I see her, I remember her murderous mother.) Ruhi's words spewed venom
"Mamu aap kaise bhul sakte ho ki iski maa ne meri matashree ke sath kya kiya tha, aap iska sath derahe ho....kyunn?" (Uncle, how can you forget what her mother did to my mother, and yet you're supporting her...why?) Ruhi's pain and anger boiled over as she searched for answers.
"Haan sath deraha hoon, kyuki jo bho hua usme Abheera koi galti nahi hai aur isliye sath deraha hoon kyuki Akshu ne Aaru ko nahi mara tha" (Yes! I am supporting her, because Abheera is not at fault in this and because Akshu didn't kill Aaru.) Kairav's voice echoed through the room making everyone stunned. The Goenkas looked at each other in shock.
"Jhoot......aap jhoot kyun bol rahe ho Mamu. Unhone khud kaha tha ki meri matashri ki jaan unke wajahse gayi. Unhone hi meri matashri ko mara hai" (Lies...why are you lying, Uncle? She herself said her actions led to my mother's death. She killed my mother.) Ruhi's face twisted in anguish as she refused to listen anything. Her childhood trauma resurfacing in her mind.
"Ye jhoot hai Ruhi! Sach kya hai mai batati hoon. Bhabhi ne Aarohi ji ko nahi mara tha, wo toh unhe bachane ki kosis kar rahi thi...." (This is a lie! Let me tell you the truth. Bhabhi didn't kill Aarohi; she was trying to save her...) Muskan's voice rose above the chaos and went onto narrate everything that happened on that unfateful day.
"Bhabhi ne sara ilzaam apne sir le liya taaki kabhi Ruhi ko aisha na laage ki uski wajahse Aarohi ji ki maut huyi thi." (Bhabhi took the entire blame upon herself so that Ruhi would never feel responsible for Aarohi ji's death.) Muskan's revelation sent shock waves through everyone's spine. Abheera listened upon with her eyes still emotionless.
The room fell silent, as if the weight of Akshara's sacrifice had crushed all sound. Akshara's selfless act, hidden for so long, now laid bare, exposed the depth of her love. She had shouldered the guilt, shielding Ruhi from the crippling weight of responsibility. The family's eyes, once blind to Akshara's truth, now opened to the enormity of her sacrifice. Regret and guilt etched their faces.
"Sirf tere liye Bhabhi ne zindagi bhar ka dukh chuna tha." (For your happiness, Bhabhi chose a lifetime of sorrow.) Muskan said holding Ruhi by her shoulders.
These words cut deep, slicing through the layers of misunderstanding and misdirected anger. Kairav's eyes dropped, shamefaced, while Ruhi's expression crumbled, her world shattered by the truth.
"Sab jante huye bhi hume chup rehna pada kyuki Bhabhi ne humdono ko kasam di thi kabhi kuch na kehne ke liye. Lekin aaj jab bhabhi hi nahi hai toh kaisi kasam" (We all knew, yet remained silent because Bhabhi made us promise never to speak. But now that Bhabhi's gone, what's the point of keeping that promise?) Muskan shook her head in regret as she remembered how her Akshara bhabhi took promise in the name of her unborn niece to hide the truth from everyone and then secretly left without informing anyone.
"Nahi....nahi maine apni matashree ko nahi mara. Jhoot hai yesab, mai kyun marungi apni matashree ko......maine nahi mara" (No...no, I didn't kill my mother. This is a lie; why would I kill my mother...I didn't.) Ruhi's voice trembled, her eyes wide with desperation. Her denial was a fragile shield, protecting her from the crushing weight of reality.
"Haan tune nahi mara, wo accident tha, jisme na teri galti thi na Akshu ki. Aur sirf tujhe trauma se bachane ke liye Akshu ne saari galti apne sir leli, samajh rahi hai tu Ruhi" (Yes, you didn't kill her; it was an accident, neither your fault nor Akshara's. And Akshara took the blame to save you from trauma, understand, Ruhi?) Kairav attempted to make her realise that it was indeed a accident and not a planned murder. But all his attempt to console her seemed futile. His words were a lifeline, thrown to Ruhi's drowning soul but Ruhi's grip on her denial tightened.
"Nahi....nahi...nahi yesab jhoot hai jhoot hai. Mai nahi manti, Akshara maasi ne hi meri Matashree ko mara hai yahi sach hai" (No...no...no, this is a lie. I won't believe it; Akshara maasi killed my mother, this is the truth) Ruhi's voice rose, her words a desperate attempt to keep her reality intact. Her heart unwilling to accept the truth.
The next moment a familier voice drew everyone's attention. "Sach mai batata hoon." (I will tell the truth) Armaan roared at the entrance. His eyes shifted towards Abheera as he stood infront of everyone. His heart breaking into pieces to see his silly girl so broke and inconsolable.
