Abheera's fingers shook as she pointed at Vidya. Tears streamed down her face.
"Maine kitni baar inse maafi mangi, lekin inke liye inka gussa, inka guroor sabse upar tha. Ye teen mahine jo maine iss ghar me jhela haina wo kisi physical violence se kaam nahi hai." (I apologized countless times, but for them, their anger and ego were paramount. These three months I've endured in this house are worse than any physical violence.) Abheera's voice cracked.
"Lekin ab bas! Mai yaha aur nahi rahungi....mai nahi chahti mera bachcha iss negativity me bada ho." (But enough! I won't stay here anymore; I don't want my child to grow in this toxic environment.) Abheera wiped away tears, her voice trembling.
"Abheera! Kaisi baatein kar rahi hai beta aishe halat me kaha jaigi tu?" (Abheera, what are you saying? Where will you go in this state?) Madhaav's concern deepened as he saw Abheera's firm resolution.
"Kahi bhi chali jaungi Papa bas yaha nahi rahungi." (I'll go anywhere, Papa, just not stay here.) Abheera cried. Madhaav steeped forward swiftly pulling Abheera into a tight hug. His arms enveloped her, holding her close as if shielding her from the world's pain.
"Shant hoja beta....shant hoja. Tu dard me hai mai samajh raha hoon lekin please jaldbaazi me koi faisla maat le. Tujhe yaha nahi rehna na, theek hai. Armaan ko aane de mai usse baat karunga, lekin abhi nas tu shant hoja beta." (Calm down, child...calm down. You're hurt, I understand, but please don't rush into any decisions. If you don't want to stay here, that's fine. Let Armaan come; I'll talk to him. But for now, just calm down, child.) His hands patted her back reassuringly, conveying a deep sense of security and protection. Madhaav's touch was calming, his presence a balm to Abheera's frayed emotions.
As Abheera's tears soaked his shoulder, Madhaav's grip tightened, his chest absorbing her sobs. His eyes closed, and his face contorted in empathy, reflecting the depth of his paternal love.
"Madhaav! Tum isse rokne ki bajai badava derahe ho. Arrey iski halat dekho, aishe halat me ye akeli rahegi aur Armaan wo akela sabkuch kaise karega?" (Madhaav, instead of stopping her, you're encouraging her. Look at her state; she'll be alone, and how will Armaan handle everything alone?) Kaveri's concern for Abheera's well-being seemed genuine, but Madhaav seemed unsure of her intentions. His expressions remained calm, but his eyes hinted at a brewing storm.
"Jaise bhi ho karlega kamse kam din raat ke taane toh nahi milenge unhe. Aap shayad bhul gayi hai lekin mai nahi bhula hoon Maasa ki ek wakt tha jab apne Armaan aur Abheera ko sirf zaleel kiya tha." (Whatever happens, at least they won't get taunts day and night. You may have forgotten, but I haven't, how you humiliated Armaan and Abheera.) Madhaav's statement brought back dark memories of Kaveri's ego and stubborness.
"Aaj pata nahi apko kya hua hai lekin mai kuch nahi bhula hoon" (I don't know what's gotten into you today, but I haven't forgotten those.) Madhaav continued as he seemed not at all convinced about Kaveri's sudden change of heart.
"Ye koi baat nahi huyi Madhaav ji" (This is unacceptable, Madhaav ji.) Vidya said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Madhaav's face darkened, his patience wearing thin, "Tum toh chup hi raho Vidya, jitna galat tumne kiya haina indono ke sath uske baad mai tumhare muh se kuch bhi nahi sunna chahta" (Vidya, you should just keep quiet. After all the wrong you've done to both of them, I don't want to hear anything from you.)
"Huh! Chor dijiye Dadisa.....Maa, aplog bhi kisse rukne ko keh rahi hain? Bhagna toh iske khoon me hai, apni maa se hi sikha hai. Iski maa bhi aishe hi apne pregnancy me pit dikhake bhaagi thi, toh ye bhi toh bhagegi na. Khooni ki beti" (Forget it, Dadisa...Maa, whom aare you even requesting? Running away is in her blood; she learned from her mother. Her mother also ran away during pregnancy, so she'll run too. Daughter of a murderer.) Ruhi broke her silence only to spit venom of her deep hatred. The room fell silent, the family was not able to recognise Ruhi this time. Abheera's eyes stung, her heart shattered into a million pieces.
