SS-1.3 : Armaan ~ Abheera

"Par tumne kya kiya meresath? Aaj tum sawal kar rahi ho ki maine apni behen hone ka farz nahi nibhaya, par kya tumne nibhaya. Arrey maine toh suna tha badi behen maa jaisi hoti hai, magar tumne toh mere sath dushmano se bhi bura kiya Ruhi!" (But what did you do to me? You question whether I fulfilled my sisterly duties, but did you? I had heard older sisters are like mothers, but you've done worse to me than enemies, Ruhi!) Abheera's eyes welled up, her voice shaking.

"Sabko yakeen dila diya ki mai kabhi maa nahi bansakti. Tumne dekha mujhe kitna dard horaha tha yesab janke.....sab meresath kaisa bartav kar rahe the lekin ek bar bhi tumne sach nahi bataya." (You convinced everyone I'd never be a mother. You saw my pain, knowing this...everyone's behavior towards me, yet you never spoke the truth.) Her anger boiled over, her pitch slowly rising. The turbulent waved of emotions exploding in the form of words.

"Badal gayi thi na tum.......toh tabh aake ekbar mujhse kaha hota, ki Abheera yesab jhoot tha, tum maa ban sakti ho." (If you had changed, you would have told me once, Abheera, this is a lie, you can be a mother.) Abheera's voice dripped with disgust as she held Ruhi by her shoulders giving her a shake.

"Shayad mai sab bhula deti lekin nahi, tumne meri insults ka maza liya. Mujhe aur Armaan ko kabhi na kush rehne ka shrap mila tabh bhi tum chup rahi.Ekbar bhi mera dard nahi dikha tumhe aur aaj mujhe dogli keh rahi ho." (Maybe I would have forgiven everything, but you enjoyed insulting me. You remained silent even when Armaan and I were cursed to never find happiness. You never saw my pain, and today you call me dishonest.) Abheera condemned Ruhi.

"You know what sabse badi selfish tum ho, tumse badi selfish ladki maine aaj tak nahi dekhi. Aur mai fir kehti hoon meri mumma ko bich me lana band karo, meri mumma ko bich me laane se tum sahi nahi hojaogi, samjhi!" (You're the most selfish person I've ever seen; I've never met a more selfish girl like you. And I'm telling you again, stop involving my mother! Mentioning her won't justify your actions, understand?) Abheera's eyes blazed with anger as Ruhi's venomous words cut deep, she seemed least bothered about the wrongs committed, "Kyun na lau? Ohh kyuki tumse tumhari mumma ki beizati sehen nahi horahi. Isliye? Lekin Abheera sach toh sach hota haina. Tumhari maa khooni thi, aur dekh lena iski saza sirf tumhe nahi tumhare iss aane wale bachche ko bhi milegi. Ye meri baddua hai." (Why should I not brimg bring your mumma? Because you can't bear your mother's disrespect, right. But Abheera, truth remains truth. Your mother was a murderer, and you'll see how her deeds will affect you and your unborn child. This is my curse.)

Abheera's face contorted in rage, her heart pounding with every word. She felt her whole world crumbling around her. A resounding slap echoed through the room. Ruhi looked up to watch Vidya in horror who just slapped her. Vidya gasped, shouting "Ruhiiii!"

"Tumhari itni himmat! Mere aane wale pote ya poti ke liye baddua mangti ho. Chi!!!!" (How dare you! You're cursing my unborn grandchild? Shame!) Ruhi's face stung, but her eyes flashed with defiance. She refused to back down.

Vidya approached Abheera, concern etched on her face. "Abheera! Beta tum...tum thik hona" (Abheera, child...are you okay?)

Abheera's lips curved into a sarcastic smile. Her sarcasm cut deep, her words laced with pain, "Ruhi ne baddua di toh apko itna bura lag raha hai aur uss baddua ka kya jo apne mujhe diya tha? Aaj mere liye itni fikr kyun, maine toh Armaan ki zindagi barnaad kardi na." (You're affected so badly by the curse Ruhi gave, but what about the one you gave me? Why are you suddenly concerned about me, when I ruined Armaan's life?)

Vidya reached out to Abheera, trying to comfort her. Vidya's voice trembled, "Nahi beta aisha nahi hai...." (No, child, it's not like that...) But Abheera was quick enough to move back from her reach, her eyes welled up due to the unbearable pain she had endured in the past few months.
