"What did Professor Umbridge have you do in your detention last night?" Snape asked both of them but kept his gaze on Seraphina.

"Lines. She had us write lines." Seraphina said and Harry nodded in agreement.

"Is that all?" Snape asked still looking at Seraphina who was trying to keep herself composed but also couldn't lie to Snape when it was evident that he knew something already. She just shook her head looking down at her hand.

Harry was looking over at Seraphina and as she looked down at her hand. Harry looked back at McGonagall and Snape.

"She had us use a special kind of quill. I'm not sure what it's called. I've never come across anything like it... I don't think Seraphina has either?" Harry said speaking up.

Seraphina shook her head "No, I haven't." She said taking her bandage off her hand.

"I'm no stranger to darker magic artifacts, but I'm not sure if this is something she came up with on her own," Seraphina said holding her hand out for Snape and McGonagall to see.

They both leaned forward to see what was written on her hand. Both Professors looked over at each other, stunned in silence for a few moments as McGonagall held her hand out for Harry's hand. They both inspected it. Committing both phrases to memory before they stood up straight again.

"The ink on the parchment was our blood. So it was siphoning it from us as we used it" Seraphina explained shrugging a little. She hadn't gotten a spare moment to disappear into the library to try and figure out how it worked, so she was just offering up what she could in hopes that they knew what it was she used.

"Severus, have you ever come across something like this?" McGonagall asked looking over at Snape.

Snape looked at Harry and Seraphina shaking his head a little. "No, I believe the device was manufactured by our new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor." He explained to them.

McGonagall sighed, nodding a little to him "Very well," she said keeping her usual stiff composure.

She looked back at Seraphina and Harry with a gentleness in her eyes. "We will handle this." She told them seriously.

" I will make sure that Professor Umbridge knows that we have certain detention procedures that she must uphold in her classroom. She's not exempt from these rules." McGonagall explained.

Seraphina was at a loss for words. She still didn't understand how either of them had found out about what had happened in their detention last night. She was under the impression that neither she nor Harry had said anything. She also highly doubted that Umbridge was going around boasting about that sort of thing to other teachers. Meaning that their source was a real mystery to both her and Harry.

"I don't mean to sound ungrateful for your help and support Professor. I'm just surprised that you found out in the first place. Potter and I hadn't planned to say anything to anyone. I haven't but I'm not sure if--" Seraphina started.

"No, I haven't said anything to anyone," Harry interjected looking over at Seraphina who just nodded.

"Well, it appears someone in one of your circles is far more observant than you are aware of," Snape said but didn't offer up any more information that might identify the person. "You can rest assured that this will not happen again," McGonagall explained to them as someone else walked into the room.

"Oh yes, Poppy. Thank you for coming." McGonagall said as Madam Pomfrey walked into the room and gave Harry and Seraphina her usual warm smile.

"Oh, Professor. I don't think this is necessary." Seraphina said looking back at McGonagall. "Nonsense Miss Avery. Just let her take a look to be sure." She told her sternly, but there was a warmth there that McGonagall did care about Seraphina's well-being.
