"It was an accident, she's fine though. She hasn't even complained about it. Stop acting like Avery of all people can't handle it. She's been on the team since second year and gotten fair worse injuries." Malfoy defended himself, he was right. Whether Theo wanted to admit that or not though was a whole other question.
Seraphina followed Potter out of the Great Hall, away from everyone's eyes and ears. They both knew them talking together was bound to cause some questions, especially for those who were present for their outbursts in Defense Against the Dark Arts yesterday. People were already talking about it enough, this was just going to add fuel to the fire. They stood just off to the side, Mattheo could still see them from where he was at the Slytherin table.
"I just wanted to ask about how your hands doing?" Potter asked her. Seraphina looked down at her hand before looking back at Harry with a shrug.
"It's annoying. I can't tell if it's still throbbing from her or Quidditch practice." She said honestly.
"I didn't know you cared though. How sweet, Potter." She said with a playful smirk as Harry's cheeks turned a light pink color. She found it amusing how quickly she was able to make him get all flustered.
"How's yours?" She asked tilting her head a little as she glanced at his hand and then back at him.
"It's alright. Same as yours." He told her and Seraphina nodded a little to him. She glanced back into the Great Hall, immediately meeting Mattheo's gaze and looking away from him back at Harry.
"Have you given it any more thought? Telling McGonagall?" She asked him.
Harry shook his head a little "I'm just going to leave it for now." He admitted.
"Sounds like a plan to me. My friends think it's a Quidditch injury." She said with a slight smile and Harry nodded a little to her.
"Luckily I'm always covered in some sort of bandage. I don't think they'll notice much." Harry admitted and Seraphina laughed a little.
"Looks like we're good to go then." She told him confidently.
"If it gets any worse, let me know. We'll figure something out together." He told her sincerely, which made Seraphina smile a little more.
"The same goes for you." She said, before winking at him and heading back into the Great Hall. Harry stood there watching her curiously as she walked back to the Slytherin table. He felt someone else's eyes on him and met Mattheo's eyes who were giving him the coldest death glare Harry had ever witnessed. The look in Mattheo's eyes sent a chill down his spine because it looked exactly like his father's. Harry nodded once to him before heading back to the Gryffindor table.
Seraphina walked back over to the table and grabbed her bag for class. All of her friends just stared at her, waiting for her to explain. Her eyes darted around the group as she swung her bag over her shoulder.
"We were settling a bet," Seraphina told them with an eye roll.
"Since when are you making bets with Potter?" Enzo said to her.
"I had to do something to pass the time writing lines for Umbridge." She told them, with a shrug.
"Look, it's not that big of a deal. It was one bloody time. Get over it." She told them, looking at each of them defensively. They were all studying her face curiously.
"Umbridge really had you two just write lines?" Mattheo asked her. He was looking at her hand but met her eyes when he finished his question.
"Yes, just lines," Seraphina said slightly frustrated as to why she was getting the fourth degree from them.
