| Luke's pov |
She was the last one.
After I killed Jen, I'd be done.
I'd move away and start over, but there had to some loose ends to tie up.
Like Ashton.
He'd have to go.
And that Calum and Michael kid would have to go too.
So much dirty work.
There was something special about Jen.
She was sweet, but could be dark.
Maybe that's what I'll do, instead of injecting that "love" shit or should i say poison in her, I'll make her forget.
Forget about her past life.
That's it.
I'll make Michael bring her back, and if he doesn't, Ashton will.
It'll work.
2 birds with one stone.
Get Jen and kill off the others, but first, let's play a little game, see how tough she really is.
I look at the security footage and notice they're in a cave. I hit the second button.
I sit back and wait for the show to start.
| Jen's pov |
I wake up to the sound squawking.
I rub the goop out of my eyes and and sit up.
A bird.
Or at least that's what it looks like.
I shove Calum.
"What?"
He sits up, rubbing his eyes and looking at the entrance of the cave.
"Woah."
"Michael." I whisper.
"Get up!"
He rolls over and looks at the entrance.
"What the fuck is that?"
"A bird you idiot."
He rolls his eyes.
"What's it doing here?"
Calum shakes his head.
"I don't know."
I get up.
Calum's tugging on my arm.
"Jen, don't"
He gets up with me.
Instantly Michael gets up too.
We walk towards it.
It turns around and starts walking out, we follow it.
We reach what looks like a clearing of trees, when it stops moving.
It turns to look at us.
It croaks.
A response comes.
Then another.
Then another.
Then the whole Forrest, sounds like it's filled with them.
Michael takes a step forward, snapping a branch.
It croaks again.
"Run."
I look at Calum.
"What?"
It comes flying at us.
"RUN!"
Hundreds of birds, start flying towards us.
Pecking and clawing at us.
"Get to the cave!" Michael yells.
"No! We'll be trapped there!"
We keep running.
The cliff.
"We need to jump!"
We're 8 feet away from making it when Michael trips over a log.
I stop turning around to help.
Calum pulls me back.
"We don't have time!"
"Calum let me go!"
I start to hit him.
Michael gets up.
The birds getting closer and closer.
The last thing I see before we jump is Michael's face.
Horrified.
But there's something else.
Betrayal.
