INT. UNIVERSAL CINEMA AMC - DAY

WOODY WOODPECKER peeks out, standing in front of the theater, staring at his poster being covered by a poster of Minions across the theater's massive posters. WOODY WOODPECKER'S beak frowning in frustration.

WOODY: (muttering) They're playing Minions again... and I'm stuck behind the poster. They've forgotten about me.

WOODY WOODPECKER turns away from the theater, his usual playful, mischievous energy gone. He walks down the street, shoulders slumped, and eventually sits on the sidewalk, leaning against a streetlamp. He buries his face in his gloved hands, and for the first time in a long time, Woody Woodpecker lets out a soft sob. Just then, TORI VEGA walks by, holding a shopping bag while scrolling through her phone. She notices WOODY WOODPECKER sitting alone on the sidewalk and feels a sense of familiarity but isn't quite sure who he is. Curiosity piqued, she stops and walks over.

TORI: (gently) Hey...are you ok?

She approaches WOODY WOODPECKER cautiously and sits down next to him on the curb. WOODY WOODPECKER keeps his face covered, but TORI VEGA leans forward a little, trying to get a better look as WOODY WOODPECKER uncovers his face slowly, his tear-streaked feathers now visible. His eyes are red from crying, and he looks up at TORI VEGA with a sad, hollow expression. The moment TORI VEGA sees his face, she gasps slightly in recognition.

TORI: (softly smiling) Oh my gosh! you're Woody Woodpecker, right?

WOODY: (muttering) At least someone knows me.

WOODY WOODPECKER sniffles and nods, still feeling down. He suddenly leans forward and wraps his arms around TORI VEGA in a tight hug. TORI VEGA is a little surprised at first but quickly wraps her arms around him, holding him close and rubbing his back comfortingly.

TORI: (whispering) Awww...What has gotten into you?

WOODY WOODPECKER pulls back slightly, tears still clinging to his eyes, and looks at Tori with a mix of sadness and frustration.

WOODY: (shaky) I just... I don't know anymore. I feel like no one likes me anymore. It's like I'm invisible. They keep playing these new movies, like Minions and all that, and I'm just... forgotten.

TORI VEGA listens closely, nodding as WOODY WOODPECKER pours out his feelings.

TORI: (assuring) Oh come on. At least some people out there still know who you are.

WOODY: (continuing, tearey-eyed) I've been around for so long, you know? I used to be everywhere. People used to laugh at my jokes, love my cartoons. But now? It's like I don't even exist to the new generation. They call me a dusty bird and they don't think I belong. They don't know me. I'm eclipsed by all these new things.

TORI VEGA'S expression softens as she realizes just how deeply WOODY WOODPECKER feels overshadowed and left behind.

TORI: (comforting) Oh, Woody... I get it. It's tough when things change and it feels like people have forgotten about you. But that doesn't mean you don't still matter. You're a classic. You've made so many people laugh for years, and trust me, there are still people out there who love you and who remember you.

WOODY WOODPECKER looks up at her with a glimmer of hope in his eyes, though the pain is still there.

WOODY: You think so?

TORI: (smiling) Yeah and you know what? You've got something those new characters don't have, you've got history. You're timeless. No one can take that away from you.

WOODY: (sniffing) You really think so?

TORI: (grinning) I know so. And hey, who cares if some people don't get it? The ones who know, they know. And you're still Woody freaking Woodpecker, right? The legend!

WOODY WOODPECKER wipes his tears with the back of his glove, a small, grateful smile creeping across his beak. He chuckles weakly, the familiar Woody laugh slowly returning.

WOODY: (softly laughing) Heh-heh-heh-HEH-heh! I guess I am...

TORI VEGA smiles as she and WOODY WOODPECKER both hug each other in embrace.

TORI: Come on. Let's go meet up with my friends at Karaoke Dokie. You can tell me and them about yourself.

WOODY: (smiling a bit better) Yeah... that sounds nice. Thanks, Tori.

The two walk off together, TORI VEGA chatting with WOODY WOODPECKER as he begins to feel a little lighter.
