OS-1 : Abhimanyu~Akshara

Start from the beginning

Akshara knew Abhimanyu prioritises his work and his patients over anything. But she also knew his heart, which will be immersed in grief after she departs. Her conciousness made it clear to her that her departure loomed, inevitable. Yet, Akshara yearned to leave a piece of herself behind, just for him.

"What can I leave for him?" she thought.

Her heart whispered, "Your voice."

Yes, it was her voice that stirred the calm waters of Abhimanyu's heart. With newfound resolve, Akshara turned to Abhimanyu.

"Abhi..." her voice barely audible. Akshara's gaze locked onto Abhimanyu's, her eyes brimming with a mix of love and longing.

"What happened? Do you want something?" Abhimanyu asked, his voice laced with concern, as he gently patted her forehead.

"Mere pass wakt kam hai Abhi" (My time is running out, Abhi), Akshara whispered, her voice barely audible. Abhimanyu's face contorted in anguish, his eyes welling up with tears.

"Don't say that," he pleaded, his voice cracking. Akshara's frail hand slowly rose to wipe away his tears, her caress electrifying his skin.

"Please maat ro Abhi, tum aishe roge toh main nahi japaungi" (Please don't cry, Abhi. If you cry, I won't be able to go) Her weak smile shattered Abhimanyu's resolve. His armor of strength crumbled.

"Why, Akshu? Why did this happen to us?" Abhimanyu cried, hiding his face in the crook of her neck. Akshara's labored breaths filled the silence as she slowly patted his forehead.

"Kanhaji ki marzi ke bina kabhi kuch nahi hota. Isse unki marzi maanlo Abhi, aur mujhe haste huye vida karo." (Nothing happens without Lord Krishna's will. Accept it, Abhi, and bid me farewell with a smile.) Abhimanyu remained quite at her words, trying to accept the brutal reality. Silent tears found it's way out of his eyes. Akshara made him look at her, saying "Lekin jaane se pehle kya tum meri akhri ichha puri karoge?" (But before I leave, will you grant my final wish?)

Abhimanyu's voice trembled, "Jo tum chaho" (I'll do anything) he vowed. Akshara's frail hands grasped Abhimanyu's, her eyes pleading. "I want to leave something behind for you... a song.....that will live on after me."

Abhimanyu nodded frantically. In a race against time, he transformed their living room into a makeshift recording studio, carefully setting up equipment to capture Akshara's fading voice. He did every possible arrangement to fulfill her last wish. As they began recording, Abhimanyu struggled to maintain his composure. Akshara's weakened state tore at his heart. He adjusted her mic, ensuring her soft voice was audible.

"Sing from your soul, my love," he whispered. Akshara's labored breathing filled the silence. Akshara's frail voice trembled, struggling to find its melody. Abhimanyu's eyes locked onto hers, his humming a gentle nudge. Softly, he began:

"Oos ki bunde jaise pighle dil ye pighalta hai.....Dekhe tumhe jab ek na mane, tujhme hi khota hai " His humming transformed into words, words into soulful lyrics. Akshara's eyes sparkled, her voice melting with his.

"Palke jhuke saans ruke jab tu kareeb ajaiye..." her voice echoed. Together, they sang, their voices entwined in a poignant harmony.

"Janiye, dil tune chuwa hai sau martaba...". Their love anthem, "Janiye," filled the room. Tears streamed down Abhimanyu's and Akshara's face as they sang together.

Between takes, Abhimanyu helped Akshara rest, her oxygen levels dropping alarmingly. He hid his fears, focusing on her comfort. As Akshara finished the song, her moments began to fade away. She took Abhimanyu's hands in hers, her touch warm and fragile. Akshara's eyes, brimming with a deep longing, signaled at the drawer beside her. Abhimanyu opened it, revealing a small container. Inside, the sacred sindoor awaited.
