Lily's point of view:

Because I really wanted to know what Poppy did, I stood outside the door, listening to every word. But I wished I hadn't. Now I knew that Poppy had liked Fendan and then killed him. I felt tears of rage and sadness run down my face. I brushed my tears away. Feelings are feelings, so I shouldn't have felt angry at Poppy. Sophie came out of the room a few minutes later.

"Lily, were you listening? Poppy didn't want you to hear because she knew it would hurt your feelings." Sophie said. I nodded. I had understood that Poppy didn't want to upset me, but I would have rathered her just admitted it herself. I walked back into the bedroom, where Poppy was sitting on the bed.

"Hey, I heard what you said to Soph and I want you to know that I'm not mad. It's not your fault that Fendan is dead." I said. Poppy looked up at me.

"You forgive me?" She asked. I nodded.

"Of course. Eirynor had manipulated you to believe that Fendan was purposefully trying to make you jealous. You just didn't know how to deal with it. This was what Eirynor wanted. Eirynor is evil, and I think you know that." I said. Poppy nodded.

"Yeah. Lily, I'm so sorry. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I was jealous of you, but also didn't want to hurt you." Poppy said. I nodded again.

"I know you were jealous, but you don't have to worry. You are an amazing girl, and someday, you'll find the perfect guy for you. Let's just not be mad at each other and save Middle Earth." I said. Poppy nodded. I was still a little mad, but Fendan was gone, and Poppy had nothing to be jealous of. We both walked out of the bedroom together. Sophie gave me a look. Poppy walked into the kitchen.

"Neither of you looks super upset anymore. Did you work it out?" Sophie asked. I nodded.

"Yeah," I said.

"Great. Tonight, we are going to continue to Mordor. We shouldn't get caught by orcs if we travel by night. I'll call for the eagles." Sophie said. I nodded. Together, we walked into the kitchen. Later that night, we decided to leave. Adren chose to come with us. We thought it would be helpful to have a healer on our side, so we let him stay.
