Seraphina and Mattheo had a mutual understanding of what this all meant for them. They also knew that they were the only people in their lives who could understand the feelings that were surfacing of having to face their fathers. Seraphina blinked for a moment pushing the thought away. She didn't need to worry about what was going to happen if her father came looking for her right now. It would only make the day more harder than it needed. Her eyes shifted over the Gryffindor table again as Harry sat down with Weasley and Granger, those three were going to make it harder to ignore.
"Another year of our Defense Against the Dark Art's Professor gushing over Pathetic- Potter," Malfoy muttered, snapping Seraphina out of her thoughts. She smiled a little as she took a big gulp of water.
"She was at his hearing, she voted for him to be expelled." Seraphina reminded him. They had heard that from Lucius Malfoy when he came home displeased with the outcome of the trial.
"We might have someone on our side for once," Seraphina added taking a bite of her toast.
"I bloody hope so, I don't think I can take another year of Potter getting special treatment," Draco added and Blaise snorted.
"He's got Dumbledore and this whole school wrapped around his finger, that's not likely to change," Blaise said as Mattheo slammed his fork down on the table.
"Can we please talk about anything fucking else or better yet... Let's not talk at all." Mattheo snapped and Seraphina rolled her eyes at his outburst.
"Riddle, no one here is forcing you to sit here," Seraphina told him as she ate, Mattheo clenched his jaw and glared at her across the table.
"I know, free will is a bitch isn't it Theo?" Mattheo said looking over at Theodore who had been uncomfortably silent throughout the whole conversation.
"Not now, Mattheo," Theo grumbled as he ate.
Seraphina looked over at Mattheo who aside from his usual scowl didn't look the least bit hungover despite him drinking far too much last night. She figured that he must have a high tolerance at this point. But the fact that he wasn't sitting there suffering through a headache like the rest of them was annoying.
"What's got you this pissed already this morning?" Seraphina said eyeing him as she ate.
"How's Rosier? Was he everything you hoped for?" Mattheo said sarcastically ignoring her question. Each word that left his lips was laced with malice.
Seraphina immediately turned red "That's none of your business, Riddle." She told him coldly.
"Mm, maybe. Say, Theo. Don't you think Rosier's a bit too old for Avery?" Mattheo said looking over at their friend who was now getting annoyed that Mattheo was continuing to press the topic even though he asked him not to.
"Mattheo," Theodore said shooting him a warning look but Mattheo just clenched his jaw looking back at Seraphina. He knew that he should just let it go. But his anger from last night just came rushing back and he couldn't resist.
"He's only in the year above us, Riddle." Seraphina reminded him. She looked over at Theo who was now tense and clenching his fists under the table.
"Doesn't he turn 17 in like three months?" Mattheo said tilting his head to the side as he stared at Seraphina.
"So? What's that got to do with anything?" She asked tilting her head back at him.
"Let's be honest with ourselves, Avery. What would Rosier want with you anyway?" Mattheo said tauntingly.
Seraphina glanced at her toast for a moment, Mattheo's words did sting a little. It was something that she had thought about a lot during the summer, but after last night those thoughts had started to disappear. That was until Mattheo decided to bring them up. She glared at him, chewing on the inside of her cheek.
