If you asked Marlene what her relationship with Liam was like, she'd say it was okay. The two hadn't really hung out alone together and seemed to only really hang out when Frank was around.
But when Liam comes back from yet another foster home and...
S; well, you should get back to that. Just be patient;)
Marlene put her phone away once Jack returned to the table. "You remembered." She blushed. Sitting in front of her was strawberry and chocolate ice cream.
"Course I remembered." Jack grinned, taken a seat next to her. "I actually wanted to ask you something." He said, seemingly nervously.
Taken a bite of her ice cream, Marlene smiled. "Go ahead." She encouraged.
"So we've talked a lot, and hung out a bunch of times.." he began, rubbing his neck. Marlene nodded her head, trying to hide her excitement. "And you're really cool, I like that. I like you. So I was thinking, if you felt the same way you'd maybe want to be my girlfriend?"
Although she was hoping it would happen, she didn't actually expect it too. Marlene stayed quite, mouth agape. Of course she'd say yes, she had liked jack for a long time. But where were the butterflies she was supposed to get? Characters in books always got butterflies when something like this happened.
Maybe she had read too many books, saw to many films but she thought things were supposed to be different. Wasn't she meant to feel different?
"If you don't feel the same..." Jack began but was quickly cut off.
Shaken her head, Marlene pulled herself from her thoughts. "I do feel the same." She smiled. "And I'd really like to be your girlfriend."
The two shared a smile, going back to eating their ice cream, talking about anything and everything. Afterwards, Jack walked her home.
"So I'll text later?" He asked, coming to a stop in front of elmtree house, standing in front of her.
Marlene nodded her head. "Yeah. I should be getting inside though before Mike or Gina come out looking for me." She chuckled.
"Okay." Jack whispered, leaning in and cupping Marlene's face. Feeling her heart stop, she slowly closed her eyes, leaning in until their lips met.
Jack kissed her slowly, his lips rough, he didn't pull away for several seconds. When he did, the two smiled at each other, Marlene watching as he left.
Marlene turned to walk inside, a wide smile on her face. She couldn't believe it. She was actually dating Jack. And he had kissed her!
"Jesus Christ" she yelped, noticing Liam stood at the door, his eyebrow raised with amusement.
"Well that seemed cozy." He smirked. "Mike says lunch is ready."
Marlene nodded her head, wishing the ground would swallow her up. "Right." She said, immediately pushing past him and making her way to the kitchen.
"Hey." Sapphire grinned when she saw her. "How'd it go?"
Coming in behind her, Liam chuckled. "Went well from what I just saw."
Flushing red, Marlene sat down next to Sapphire and began explaining from the moment Jack had asked her out to the moment he kissed her.
