If you asked Marlene what her relationship with Liam was like, she'd say it was okay. The two hadn't really hung out alone together and seemed to only really hang out when Frank was around.
But when Liam comes back from yet another foster home and...
"Brilliant!" Frank grinned, standing up from where he sat in front of the dryer and rushing out of the kitchen.
Gina though thought otherwise. "He's not been arrested again, has he?" Gina asked making Marlene frown. She could understand why she'd ask that but it was a little unfair. Liam wasn't a criminal, he was just... overlay creative at times.
"No, something about a minor explosion." Mike explained but Marlene didn't feel like that cleared anything up.
Shaken her head she sighed. "I don't think that explained as much as you hoped it would, Mike." She shrugged, grinning slightly.
Mike grinned at her before catching Gina's concerned face. "No, no, no, no, no!" He quickly stuttered out, moving towards the woman. "No one's been hurt."
"I'd hope not with how casually you said it." Marlene snorted before catching Gina's glare, taken that as her cue to leave. "So, I'll just put all this laundry away." She said, smiling innocently and rushing out of the kitchen before Gina began to scold her,

After putting the laundry away, Marlene sat in her bed pulling out her phone seeing she had a missed call from Jack.
M; hey, sorry I was on laundry duty :)
J; no worries!
J; I was just calling to see if you wanted to hang out later?
M; I would... but Liam's coming back today and I want to hear about this supposed explosion! Tomorrow?
J; maybe.
Before she could respond, Poppy and Rosie's loud screams had her jumping off her bed and running into their room.
Running into the room, the last thing she expected to see was Carmen comforting a screaming Poppy and Rosie whilst Lily stood on her bed, a chair in hand holding it towards Liam, who was trying to climb through the window.
"What's going on?" Sapphire asked, arriving seconds after Marlene. Spotting Liam and realizing there was no threat, sapphire immediately relaxed. "Oh, hey Liam!" She greeted before walking out once more.
"Did you really think you were going to be able to come back here, of all places, unnoticed." Marlene asked, crossing her arms in amusement.
Grinning at the girl, Liam shrugged. "Can't kill a men for trying."
Looking at the state he was in, only just gripping onto the window, Marlene smirked. "Nah, but climbing up the window might."
"Lily, this is Liam." Carmen finally introduced.
"Hi." He said, lifting a hand up to wave but nearly falling shortly afterwards.
Grabbing ahold of his arm to keep him steady until Mike arrived, Marlene laughed slightly. "Point proving." She whispered to him, earning a playful glare.
