"What the hell are you doing here?" His voice was low, filled with restrained anger.
Aika's chest heaved with labored breaths, her emotions threatening to spill over. "I came because you won't let me in!" she shouted, her voice shaking. "You think you can just keep me out? You think you can pretend like I don't exist?"
Murayama's jaw tightened, his fists clenching at his sides. "I'm trying to protect you," he growled.
"Protect me?" Aika let out a bitter, hollow laugh, tears stinging her eyes. "You're just scared! Scared of how you feel about me! So you push me away instead of facing it!"
Murayama's face darkened, his frustration bubbling to the surface. "Go home, Aika. You don't belong here anymore."
The finality in his words broke something inside her. The hurt and longing that had been festering for weeks finally erupted, and before she could stop herself, she swung her fist at him, connecting with his chest. The impact was more emotional than physical, but it was enough to trigger the fire inside him.
Murayama's hand shot out, grabbing her wrist. "You want to fight?" he growled, his eyes flashing with the same intensity she felt. "Fine."
Without hesitation, Aika swung at him again, her fists wild and uncoordinated, driven by pure emotion. She didn't care that she was weak, didn't care that her body was still healing. All she cared about was breaking through the wall he had built between them.
Murayama blocked her punches, but his own emotions were spiraling out of control. She was pushing him, forcing him to confront the feelings he had been suppressing for so long. And it enraged him.
"You think I'm scared of you?" he shouted, grabbing her arms and pinning her against the wall of the gym. His breath was hot against her skin, his chest heaving with frustration. "You think I don't care?"
Aika glared up at him, her eyes filled with tears of anger and heartbreak. "You're a coward, Murayama yoshiki! You're scared of letting me in, scared of what it means!"
Murayama's grip on her arms tightened, his knuckles white as he fought to keep control. But her words cut deep, stirring something inside him that he had been trying to bury for too long. His body tensed, his emotions warring with each other-anger, frustration, and something much deeper.
"Say it!" Aika screamed, her voice raw. "Say you don't care about me!"
But Murayama couldn't say it. He couldn't lie. His silence spoke louder than any words could.
Aika, running on adrenaline, broke free from his grip, her fists flying again as she hit him with everything she had. "You don't get to decide what's best for me!" she shouted, her voice cracking with emotion. "I love you! You idiot? I have always loved you!"
Her confession was like a punch to the gut, knocking the breath out of him. He stumbled back, his mind reeling. He had always known, deep down, that he cared for her more than he should. But hearing her say it out loud, seeing the raw vulnerability in her eyes-it was too much.
Murayama surged forward, grabbing her by the shoulders and pulling her close. "Damn it, Aika," he muttered, his voice rough with emotion. "You don't get it, do you? I'm trying to keep you safe!"
Aika pushed against him, her fists weakly pounding his chest. "I don't need you to keep me safe!" she cried, tears streaming down her face. "I need you to stop pushing me away!"
And then, without thinking, Murayama's lips crashed down on hers, silencing her protests in a kiss that was filled with all the anger, passion, and longing they had been holding back for so long.
