The weight of Aika's emotions, tangled and raw, pushed her forward as she staggered through the gates of Oya Koukou, her mind dulled from the alcohol but her heart set ablaze with unresolved feelings. The sun had dipped low, casting a golden glow over the school grounds, and the faint chill of the air nipped at her skin. Her body, still healing, ached with every step, but it was nothing compared to the ache she felt in her chest.
She had slipped away from her welcome-home party, the laughter and warmth at Sannoh not enough to quiet the turmoil inside her. She had been pretending for weeks, pretending that everything was okay, that the distance between her and Murayama didn't bother her. But it did. More than she could admit. The space he'd forced between them gnawed at her like an open wound that refused to heal.
As she neared the entrance, several part-timers spotted her. They tensed immediately, recognizing her all too well. Without hesitation, they moved to block her path.
"Aika, you can't be here," one of them said, standing in front of her with a nervous expression. "Murayama-san made it clear-you're not allowed back."
Her blood boiled at those words. The anger and frustration she had been holding back exploded within her like wildfire. "Get out of my way," she growled, her voice low and dangerous.
The part-timers exchanged uneasy glances, unsure how to handle her. They had been given strict orders, but they all knew Aika wasn't someone who took orders lightly.
"You need to leave," another one said, his tone firmer but still hesitant.
"I'm not leaving!" Aika snapped, her fists clenching as she shoved the nearest one. He stumbled backward, startled by her force. "I came here for him! I need to talk to Murayama."
They held their ground, despite her growing fury. "You know we can't let you in," one of them insisted, his voice strained. "Just go home, Aika."
But Aika was far from listening. Her emotions surged, a mix of love, frustration, and deep, aching hurt. "No one's stopping me!" she screamed, her voice hoarse as she shoved another one aside. She swung a fist wildly, her body fueled by adrenaline, anger, and the dull throb of pain from her healing injuries.
Chaos erupted as the part-timers tried to contain her without hurting her. "Aika, stop!" one of them yelled as she lunged at another, throwing sloppy but powerful punches. She fought like a woman possessed, driven by something far more than anger-something deeper, more complicated.
"I'm not leaving until I see him!" she shouted, her voice cracking with emotion. Her body trembled, not from weakness but from the sheer intensity of everything she was feeling.
The commotion caught Murayama's attention. He was in the gym, brooding, lost in his thoughts when he heard the noise outside. His brow furrowed in confusion as he walked to the door, pushing it open and stepping outside to see the chaos unfolding in front of him.
There she was-Aika. Wild, furious, and utterly relentless. Even though she was still clearly in pain, she fought with the same fire he had always admired in her. But there was something more now, something desperate and heartbreaking in the way she swung her fists and shouted.
"Aika!" His voice cut through the chaos, sharp and commanding.
At the sound of his voice, Aika froze mid-swing, her breath hitching in her throat. Her head snapped in his direction, her eyes locking onto his. For a brief moment, the world seemed to stop, and all she could see was him.
Murayama's gaze was hard, his expression unreadable, but the sight of her-battered and bruised, still not fully healed-hit him like a punch to the gut. He strode forward, his body tense as he came to stand in front of her.
