The sun had just rose on this beautiful day that God had created.

I had three hours until my step mother and Anna awoke.

I did my normal morning routine which consisted of bathing, normal hygiene, brushing my hair and getting dressed.

Normally before my step family woke up, I would sneak out and ride Anna's horse. I think her horse likes me more than it likes her. If not, she's a terrible horse rider.

The horse was a Friesian horse, he had beautiful black hair and his name was Charcoal. Why Anna named him that, no one would know.

I would have named him Midnight or Ace.

My riding route was going to my mother's grave and then riding through the woods.
***
"Mother. They have no respect for me whatsoever." I said to my mother's grave.

A single tear ran down my cheek. It seemed like I was there for hours, just complaining about my problems.

"I need to go mother. I love you."

I then rode off in the woods.

I came across a few men in red coats led by a man in a fancy green coat.

"Ma'am, you need to leave." said one of the men in the red coats said.

"I just need to cross, it'll only be a minute." He kept motioning me back.

"I'm sorry ma'am but-" The man in the green coat interrupted him.

"Hiccup, let her go." The man, who's name I guess is Hiccup, let me go.

"Can I ask what you're doing so far out in the woods?" I asked the man who's name I didn't know.

"Hunting." He said.

"That's horrible!" I yelled.

"It's what done." He told me. I shook my head to this statement and he looked at, confused.

"Just because it's what's done, doesn't mean it's what should be done." I won a laugh from him but it wasn't supposed to be funny.

"If that's how you feel, than we shouldn't be doing this." He said, I shook my head with a grin. "What do they call you?"

"Never mind what they call me."

"You shouldn't be this deep in the forest alone."

"I'm not alone, I'm with you Mr.- what do they call you?" I asked.

"You don't know who I am?" I shook my head. "Jackson Overland Frost, my father calls me Jack, but only on a good day."

"And where do you live Jack?"

"In the palace, my father is teaching me his trading secrets and tips. They treat me well there. How do they treat you?" He asked me.

"As best as they're able, but every day is a new day. My mother always told me to have courage and be kind. That's how I got through my days."

"I'm so sorry."

"It's not your doing." I told him.

"Nor your's either."

"So you're an apprentice?" I asked.

"Of the sorts." His men then chased off into the woods after something.

"Please don't let them kill him!" I yelled.

"I promise I won't." He said with a smile.

We both then ran off in different direction.
