Bully | Beomjun / Yeongyu

Chapter 4

"U...um...e-experience I guess...a-and it gives me something to do on weekends..."

Yeonjun frowns at the thought of Beomgyu working through his weekends when he should be hanging out with friends or having fun.

"What does your..your family think of you working? they let you do it?"

Beomgyu nods, he really doesn't want a conversation about family to start up.

"y-yeah..."

Yeonjun raises his eyebrows, noticing the somewhat unenthusiastic answer Beomgyu gives to his question. He frowns slightly. After a few seconds of silence, Yeonjun decides to ask another question.

"Are..are you sure you're okay? like..you're not hurt or anything"

"I-I'll be fine...r-really...t-thank you f-for...saving me..." Beomgyu cringes internally as he says that. The fact that his bully just saved him feels so strange.

Yeonjun nods, and the reality of the situation starts to set in. He saved the boy he bullies from getting violated. Who would've even thought something like this would happen?

"..It's..it's nothing.."

Yeonjun doesn't know what else to say, he usually never speaks much with Beomgyu.

Beomgyu nods, things turning slightly awkward.

Yeonjun and Beomgyu remain in awkward silence for a few moments, Yeonjun tries to think of something to fill in the silence.

"Um.." He begins.

"..You..You said you were on your way home?"

"Y-yeah..." Beomgyu answers quietly.

Yeonjun nods, then realises that Beomgyu really shouldn't be walking around alone after what just happened.

"..Right..can I...can I walk you home?"

Beomgyu's eyes widen slightly. "y-you want t-to walk me home?"

Yeonjun swallows slightly.

"I-I mean..considering you were almost just assaulted by some random creep, I don't think you should be walking home by yourself"

Beomgyu thinks for a moment. Does he really want to accept the offer of being walked home by his bully? But on the other hand, he doesn't want to risk walking alone and that creep coming back for him.

Yeonjun waits patiently for Beomgyu's response, and he is surprised to see that the smaller boy looks deep in thought, he's probably weighing out whether he can trust Yeonjun or not.

Beomgyu looks up at him. "y...you d-don't have to...i-I'm sure you have better things to do right now..."

Yeonjun shakes his head, he suddenly feels quite determined. It's weird, he usually doesn't care at all what happens to Beomgyu, but now all he wants to do is make sure he gets home safe.

"No..it's fine. I'll walk you home"

Beomgyu hesitates for a moment, still debating if it's a good idea, but ultimately decides to take Yeonjuns offer. "o...o-okay..." he says quietly.

Yeonjun nods as he hears the boy's agreement.

"Alright, come on then.."

Yeonjun begins walking towards the end of the alley, waiting for Beomgyu to follow.

Beomgyu picks his bag up which is lying on the ground, now covered in dirt before following Yeonjun. He jogs a little to catch up to him.

Yeonjun waits until Beomgyu is beside him before walking normally again. The two boys walk side by side in silence, the sound of their footsteps being the only noise filling the night air.
