Chapter 3

Beomgyu can feel his heart start to beat fast as he wonders what it is that the boss wants to talk to him about. He's been working here for a few months now and never really caused any problems, but the mention of serious talk still freaks him out. And the fact that they are now alone in his bosses office only makes him more anxious.

"Beomgyu, I hope you don't get the wrong idea but someone raised a concern to me about you." His boss starts, and he keeps his tone light and steady, obviously trying to make sure he doesn't freak Beomgyu out too much.

"C-concern?...w...what about sir?" Beomgyu asks nervously.

His boss sighs and continues.

"There was a customer who came and mentioned to me that they think you're being harassed. They mentioned that a man comes in here often and just stares at you. When I asked them what they meant they said they've seen him staring at you with an... unsavoury look in his eye"

Beomgyus's eyes widen slightly, he never noticed the man until today.

The boss notices the look on Beomgyus's face and frowns, he squeezes the boy's shoulder gently to try and reassure him.

"You have never mentioned anything about this man to me before, why is that?"

"I...I only noticed him today...I-I didn't know he had been in here before..."

The boss's frown deepens slightly. He looks at the boy in front of him, watching as he nervously fiddles with his fingers.

"Beomgyu... I'm not going to get annoyed at you, I just want to know that you're safe. Does the man make you feel scared, or uncomfortable?"

"N-no, sir... I-I'm sure it's nothing..." Beomgyu says. He's got enough on his plate right now and doesn't have it in him to deal with any more. He's convincing himself it's nothing to worry about.

His boss still seems concerned but he lets it go, for now, he doesn't want Beomgyu to get too freaked out.

"Okay, I trust you. But if you ever do start to feel scared or uncomfortable please tell me asap. And please, don't confront the man, I don't want you to get hurt"

Beomgyu nods showing he understands. His boss then tells him he can finish his shift early today.

Beomgyu takes this as his sign to leave work.

"Thank you, sir. Have a good day." He says politely, before exiting his office and heading towards the staff room to retrieve his coat and bag.

He puts on his coat and grabs his bag, saying goodbye to the waitresses and the other staff members. Then, Beomgyu heads out the door and begins the walk home.

As he walks down the street he tries to keep a casual pace and not let on that he's slightly nervous. The sun is nearly setting as he continues walking, the day's light is starting to go and the sky darkens. He quickens his pace in an attempt to get home quicker, his mind clouded with anxiety and thoughts of the man back at the café.

As he continues walking, he starts to notice a presence behind him. Beomgyu tries to calm himself down, thinking it's just some stranger walking behind him, nothing to worry about. But as this thought crosses his mind the presence behind him gets closer, the footsteps behind him becoming louder and more noticeable.

He tries to pick up his pace when suddenly he feels his wrist being grabbed and he's pulled into a side alley.

He yelps as he is suddenly grabbed and pulled into the secluded alley. Beomgyu's heart rate immediately picks up, he turns around and looks towards the man who pulled him into the alley to see the same man from the café.
