CHERRY

Fuck me.

Sitting on my bed, halfway through unpacking my shit, how did I end up here.

Mother and father decided if I didn't go to their old academy, I was out of the will. Dictators.

"You need to mature and learn better ways, Cherry."

"Screw you, Father." I grumbled to myself.

That's how I ended up at the predominantly Christian Edenbrook Academy. An atheist and a self-proclaimed whore having to read scriptures and listen to a whole bunch of Bible talk every day. Yay.

I've only been here for a few hours, but I've only seen a few people actually look happy. I'm assuming that several people here are rich kids being forced to be here too. Maybe I'll fit right in.

I exhaled, deciding I should, A.) go on a walk. And B.) see what the campus looked like.

I swapped my current slippers for proper shoes and stepped outside, into the beautiful campus with the sunset casting a stunning glow over everything. I exhaled, taking in the nice air.

As I walked, I noticed that most people had their cliques already, despite the semester just starting. Suppose I should've got here earlier. I snapped back into reality as I saw the library.

Well, there was a chance there'd be more than just bibles in there.

I entered the spacious building, admiring the surroundings before heading to my favorite sections: fiction, adventure, and romance.

I scanned the books, which seemed to be, obviously, mostly Christian, but there were a few gems. I'd have to see if I could find a librarian around here.

I saw a favorite book of mine, behind a guy sitting with his headphones on. I took a breath, tapping his shoulder. "Sorry to bug ya...Can you pass me the Twilight book right behind you?" I asked, a bit embarrassed I was asking for something so juvenile.

His face turned pink, and he stuttered his way through confirmation before reaching behind himself and grabbing it. "Thank you. Whaddya listening to?" I inquired. He seemed a bit antisocial.

"O-oh, it's nothing. They're just noise cancelling so I don't have to hear the AC or anything." I nodded, lost for conversation topics. Guess it's time to bail...

"I totally get that, I need to do it sometimes. Maybe I'll see you on campus." I smiled as I slipped away. That was awkward...

I decided to come back tomorrow after classes and find a librarian hopefully, and began making my way back to my room.

I need a nap...
