The Time Is Now

Chapter 1: The Beginning

It's the year 3029 and James Sr. and Martha Gilligan had James Jr, their only child. They are young parents and they were just getting their lives started. They weren’t ready for kids but they knew they had to be responsible and keep him, they raised him up to be strong and independent. For the first 10 years of his life they would keep an eye on him and train him mentally teaching him everything he would need to know to succeed academically. From 10-18 they would train him physically, so that he was ready for anting that would require him to protect himself or others. James Sr. was a lieutenant in the military and Martha was a medic in the military, so he comes from a line of military personnel including his grandfather, the corporal.

  His academic training consisted of a series of complicated math equations that the normal person would struggle to answer, they did this till he could answer them on the first try, they didn't want him to be normal, they wanted a prodigy. Next he would learn about the history of Zarion and about his ancestors. Following that he learned a series of chemical compounds, what they do and how they react to other chemicals. He would then go on to learning how to read complex passages, and also learned some decryption so that he could be useful to the military if he were to go in. All of these  are going to help him, later on in life for more reasons than one and they knew that so that is why they pressed it into his mind. He wants to be the best over all too so he studies even if he already knows the criteria just so he won't ever forget it. Sometimes he even finds a college curriculum to study so he can be ahead. He was on college level by the time he was in the 7th grade, his teachers were very impressed and offered him to skip grades but he always turned it down, he didn’t want to be different from his classmates as far as what grade he was in. When he hit high school he was the smartest person in all his classes. He was on all the academic teams and led his school to many championships. His intelligence made people mad but they didn’t give him problems over it cause he was very nice and he wasn’t cocky about it. He would tutor students and would do it for free, that’s just the person he was. When he graduated he was valedictorian and received multiple scholarships, so he went to the best university and graduated with multiple degrees.

  His physical training started out with basic MMA and weight lifting, his parents would also put him in football to build character and toughen him up. His MMA training was rough but he knew it was beneficial so he put his all into it. Weightlifting was his favorite thing, he was strong and fit, he couldn’t ask for more when it came to that. By the time he made it to 7th grade he was just shy of being a black belt in taekwondo and was the star on his community football team. He tried out for the junior high school football team as the quarterback and he was almost immediately given the starting position because of his drive. In 8th grade he started going to gun range with his dad and practiced his marksmanship, he was the best in his age group which was no surprise to his parents. When he hit high school he decided he wanted to do JROTC and did all the teams. He was also a teacher at the local karate studio. He continued to play football and was automatically put on varsity his freshman year. He led his team to multiple championships and had the chance to play for the national high school football team. They unfortunately lost to a team from the next state over. James didn’t let that discourage him, he continued to practice so he could get better, then his senior year the team won the national title.

In 11th grade James met Ariel and fell in love at first sight, but he was too nervous to talk to her. One day they got put on a science project together and they started talking. Ariel was a beautiful girl, with brunette hair and beautiful blue eyes that you could get lost in. After a few days of being on the project together, James told her how he felt, and told her he’d like to be friends and see where things go. She agreed, she appreciated that he wasn't like other guys just trying to jump her pants. After a few months they were getting closer and closer and they could feel the sparks, so they decided they’d get together. He loved her because she was smart and caring, she wasn't like the other girls, they were snobby and rude. She made James happy and he made her feel loved and safe so they were perfect for eachother. They decided to go to the same university because for her they had the best medical education and for him because they had the best culinary program.
