"Figures"I said. I grasped my shirt as I felt an agonizing pain through my chest.
"It's been constantly running through my mind, I keep seeing those figures."
(I apologize for any grammatical errors in advance)
I'm trapped and can't escape but was I really trapped? or was I enticed to enter the enchanted place?
...
"You little piece of shit!" His menacing voice reverberated around the living room. He pushed me forcefully making me stumble. I ended up hitting the table and the displayed vase on it. As the vase hits the ground it shattered into pieces, the shards of the glass breaks into the skin of my feet.
Blood. I watched in horror as those shards cut deep within then I looked up at my father with fear.
"D-dad...please stop! I don't know where mom is" I cried as I stepped back when he walked forward to me dangerously. I had known my father to be aggressive ever since I had developed my senses. He is this aggressive most especially when drunk like right now. He is sick in the head.
"You're as stupid as your mom! Ever since you came into our lives everything was ruined. You fucking ruined our lives!" He gritted his teeth and aiming a punch at me but I quickly dodged it and walked stiffly in my room. I know this day would happen, that he'll explode like a volcano so I prepared. I packed the things needed like clothes, hygiene necessities and the important documents.
I was the only child. I was taken care of my mom since I was little, she's my comfort. She loved me.
But why?
Why did she left? She left me. I thought she'll bring me with her but she left me with this monster.
Mom, why?
"Where do you think you're going huh?!" He's about to catch me but he stopped.
"Go on, leave me like your mother did. It's better you get the fuck out of here"
I gather my courage to walk out of this house even without money or a shelter. I just know I had to run away and never go back to this place again. Without hesitation, I twisted the door open and left.
...
I was walking for I don't know how long, my feet hurts and my stomach is growling. I went near the bus station, I had no idea what to do. I sat down on the bus bench and I observed people waiting for their bus. There's a family-a mother, father, and the child on his lap playing with her toy doll. They're happily smiling as they watch their child play. Envy. I felt a twinge of envy for these people. I wish I was this happy.
Loneliness crept over me. I brushed my hands against my arm as the winter crisp engulfed my body. Then a middle aged woman sitting beside me has been staring at me for a few minutes. I think she's been watching me until now so I smiled at her. She smiled back at me.
