"Mhm. Childish, isn't it?"
Yeonjun shook his head.
"Not if you were a kid."
Hearing that caused another shy smile to form on Beomgyu's lips, which was hidden by his slowly overgrown bangs hanging down his face.
Yeonjun noticed, and quickly glanced around, checking for a nearby hair tie. Once he found one, he went behind Beomgyu's back, about to touch his hair.
But he hesitated.
"May I?" he asked.
Beomgyu stilled, realizing their close proximity, and that Yeonjun's hands were carefully extended out to him.
"For what?"
"Your hair, so it doesn't get in the way."
"Oh..."
Realizing his hands were coated with flour, Beomgyu shrugged.
"Sure."
Yeonjun carefully gathered Beomgyu's hair from up front, the pads of his fingers brushing against his skin, causing light goosebumps to erupt on his skin.
The older was careful with him, tying his hair with the hair tie, making sure it wasn't too loose or too tight, and smiled at him when he was done.
"All good?"
"Yeah... thanks."
"No problem."
Without any other words, Yeonjun returned to his cookie cutting, humming along to Paul McCartney's Wonderful Christmas Time, leaving Beomgyu to his thoughts.
How can you act as if you didn't make my heart flutter just now?
Minutes passed, and now, they had enough for Yeonjun to place them inside the oven, adjusting the heat settings.
"And now, we bake them for twenty minutes, as the recipe states," he concluded.
"Wow. I didn't know it was this much fun," Beomgyu replied.
"You missed out a lot, huh?"
"Yep. I did."
While waiting for the cookies to bake in twenty minutes, the pair whipped up some icing in red, white and green, and looked for extra toppings like sprinkles and chocolate chips.
Yeonjun showed Beomgyu how to use the icing squeezers, and Beomgyu picked the skill up rather quickly.
So they spent the next ten minutes decorating the cookies, and chatting a little bit about their favorite Christmas movies, which they planned to put on the screen later.
"And... I finished my last one!" Beomgyu exclaimed.
Yeonjun took a look at all of the cookies, in various colors and designs. A smile crossed his happy face, remembering what his father told him.
"The art of decorating cookies is even harder than normal art. Here is where you truly need to display your love for it, as people taste it."
"Wanna try them?" Yeonjun asked.
"Sure!"
The two grabbed a few, sitting down on the couch to taste them. Beomgyu took one of the cookies Yeonjun made, and Yeonjun took one of Beomgyu's. They both took a bite, and chewed on the hardened yet soft pastries.
The older glanced at the younger.
"Is it good?" Yeonjun asked.
A delighted smile had crossed Beomgyu's face as he savored the sweet vanilla taste of the cookies melting on his mouth with all the icing and other sugary or chocolatey sweets they had decorated them with.
"Yes! And yours?"
"It's also really good."
Hard to believe it's your first time making them.
Yeonjun smiled at him.
"We did a good job in baking them I guess."
And of course, Beomgyu returned the smile.
"Yeah. We did."
The duo ate more cookies for a while, putting on their favorite Christmas movies as promised (neither of their parents had time to celebrate with them), before Beomgyu stood up.
"I gotta go get something," he said.
"Oh, me too."
Yeonjun stood up too and headed to the bathroom while Beomgyu went to the bedroom. He opened his personal cabinet, and removed the towels from their place.
A medium sized wrapped present was under all the towels, and Yeonjun took it from there.
He returned with the wrapped gift, and when entering the living room, Yeonjun saw Beomgyu also had a slightly bigger gift with him.
"Oh."
"We had the same idea," Beomgyu chuckled.
Yeonjun sat down on the couch, and held the wrapped box out.
"Merry Christmas Beomgyu," he said.
"Thanks Yeonjun hyung."
He took the box, and unwrapped it.
"It's not much, but I felt like it would comfort you while you're on a photoshoot. Someone told me that they help with making someone lonely feel happier," Yeonjun explained.
Beomgyu took the item out of the box, and a surprised expression crossed his face.
"Oh wow!"
He hugged the object immediately.
"You got me a teddy plushie! How did you know I still like them?"
"I had a little help."
Yeonjun got into contact with Taehyun again, who told the ravenette a little about how draining photoshoots can be, and that little presents make models happy. He suggested a plushie for Beomgyu to hold when he's feeling stressed, just as how he suggested the letters.
Needless to say, it moved Beomgyu's heart.
"Well... I got you something too."
Beomgyu handed the slightly bigger present to him.
"Merry Christmas Yeonjun hyung."
"Thanks Beomgyu."
Yeonjun unwrapped the present, and gasped quietly when I saw it.
"Oh my gosh, how did you know I needed one?"
"Well, your old piece of leather was holding onto dear life whenever you were at the university, so I found this one off a website selling vegan made products."
Beomgyu had given him a new bag. And it wasn't fancy or expensive looking; it was rather simple, yet it was spacious and the quality seemed good.
Just how Yeonjun liked it.
"Wow... thank you so much," the older expressed with gratitude in his eyes.
Beomgyu smiled back at him. .
"Yeah... you're welcome."
I never would have expected this.
He really has proven himself to be a nice guy, and I'm glad he gave this to me.
Is what I'm feeling... romantic?
It's funny... I often forget that we are actually fiancés. It just doesn't... feel that way.
