Star was waiting for us there and already had her supplies ready. The small eat-in kitchen had a hutch with glass doors that Star filled with herbs and potions. This was obviously more than just a temporary stop.
"Sit. I need to start the spells. There isn't much time to waste." Star pointed to one of the four wooden chairs around the table. Jax and I gave each other a weary look. We were in way over our heads with this.
"Sit!" Jeremiah demand and we nearly fell over the chairs doing as he commanded. He was barely holding himself together. There was no way he was going to storm into Demetrius' pack house and win.
Star took a deep breath and began her illusion spell. I could tell she didn't like this plan much either, but we were all at the mercy of the more powerful beast in the room.
Once Jax and I were disguised as young teenage boys with average wolves she began with Jeremiah. I don't know what she did but it was painful. His body contorted to be more defined in muscle, face harden to be more like a beast, and his temper was now murderous.
"You will enter the house separately than find your way to Freya's parlor. She will guide you to Riley. Get her out of that house and wait here. I'll take care of the rest." Jeremiah's eyes shined red as he spoke.
"I think this is a mistake and I think you know it too." I said with a shaky breath. I wanted to yell at him to be more rational.
"It's what needs to be done." Is all he said and we walked out.
I went into the territory first with a basket of the finest wines. Demetrius was having a celebration tonight and invited most of the packs to come. It should be an easy cover for us to get in.
"Our King will be most pleased with this selection. Come join us outside." Louisa, Demetrius mate with red hair, gave me a wink then guided me out back. I couldn't stay long and definitely didn't want to run into and Lycans.
"Through there. Move down the hall of our forefathers. Elizabeth will be waiting." Louisa whispered to me. I nodded my head and moved as quickly as I could. My nerves were jumping out of my skin as I walked passed at least hundred people laughing and drinking in the warm sun.
The entire courtyard was filled with smiling faces. Many liked to bath in the power of a Lycan. Many were also loyal followers. Even with Jax and myself helping Jeremiah there was no way we could win a battle here. I couldn't worry about that right now though. Riley was all that matter and getting her out of here was all I could do.
"This way!" Elizabeth's red eyes shined from a dark room.
"Where is Riley?" I asked as I stepped into the darkness. Once over the threshold the room illuminated into the old parlor room I met them in months ago.
"She is locked in her room. Come." Freya said, appearing from a passageway in the wall.
"Are you sure we are safe?"
"No! We need to move fast." Elizabeth answered with worry all over her face.
"This is what needs to be done." Delphine, Demetrius fourth mate hugged Elizabeth for comfort. All these women will be dead once Demetrius is. I wasn't sure if they all were so eager to carry out this plan.
Freya moved into the wall and I followed behind her. So far this seemed to be too easy. I couldn't help but think something was about to go horribly wrong. Just as I was about to lose my temper Freya opened a wall for us to move through.
I saw her sitting on the bed in her father's arm crying. Riley was safe and alive. I stood frozen watching her. I worried about her this whole time, but I didn't realize how much I missed her.
