Ch. 81 - What Else Can Go Wrong

Start from the beginning

We both perked up and I quickly fixed my belt. "It's too soon! We aren't ready!" I said, fearing we were under attack already. Liam's troops didn't even make it here yet.

"Grab a weapon and stay behind me." Barry ordered then slowly opened the door.

I grabbed a chair and broken the leg off. What the fuck I was going to do with it, I had no idea. It was a weapons though.

I stepped out behind Brandon and dropped my stick. Dylan laid on the floor, hand to his neck and blood pouring out of his throat.

"Who did this?" Barry shouted. "Who?"

My eyes widened thinking of Sophia. I left her with him. I swear I saw her hybrid peak out while they were fighting too. I shook my head at the thought. Sophia was the sweetest person I ever met. She wouldn't do this.

"Get him to the medic station. The second he wakes I want answers." I ordered and two men came over to pick up the boy.

"This is the last thing we need." Barry brushed his fingers through his blonde hair. I wasn't sure if I should voice my theory to him or not. Sophia wouldn't force her mark on anyone. They way his throat was almost torn open it seemed personal too.

"It'll be ok. We just need to get through tonight and Liam's men will be here tomorrow. Go ask around at the training ground. That's the last place I saw him." I told Barry and walked towards the men carrying the boy. I needed to talk him before Barry did.

Forcing your mark like this could mean your death. If Sophia did this and Dylan wanted her dead, she would be killed. We all been through too much. Dylan was barely hanging on to begin with and if Barry lost his sister, after all these years of protecting her, he won't be ok. I don't think Barry would ever be the same again.

I paced the floor outside the mobile medical tent we started stocking in the event we were in battle. I couldn't stop thinking this was Sophia and didn't know what to do.

"He's awake." One of the nurses called to me.

I nodded my head and sighed. Here goes nothing.

"Hey Dylan!" I gave him a weak smile and rested my hand on his shoulder.

"That bitch is a freak. My neck fucking burns." He said with nothing but rage. He was rejecting the mark.

"Who did this?" I said with a shaky voice. Please goddess not...

"Sophia. Why would you let a hybrid walk around without anyone watching her? It's not normal to let a hybrid even live!" He sat up and spit on the ground. He wasn't a scared little boy anymore. He was pissed and wanted revenge. I can't let him demand for her death though.

"I know you're upset, Dylan. Sophia has never harmed anyone before. This doesn't even make sense to me why she would mark you unless... shit!" My hand covered my mouth. What shit luck we have? "Is she your fated?"

"She isn't anything to me. I want her dragged to the courts and her heart to be removed."

"Dylan!" I pleaded. How the hell can I avoid this?

"Are you seriously not going to do anything about this? She fucking marked me with her dirty blood. I won't be tied to a hybrid and I won't let her get away with this."

I gulped hard staring at him. I needed to warn Barry. Dylan was right that this was punishable by death, but I won't order anyone to end Sophia's life.

"It was Sophia. Dylan wants her punished." I said in my mind link.

"I know." Is all Barry said in response.

"Where are you?"

"I'm sorry, Brandon. My sister has to come first."

"No! Barry don't you dare step foot off this territory."

"I won't allow her to be killed." His voice rang in my head with a darkness. Barry would fight any who tried to stop him, including me.

"She won't be. I'm in charge until Liam returns, Barry. We will lock her up and fix this. Jax will take over as Alpha and pardon her. I can't have you running off. Not now, Barry, don't do this. It will cause a riot with Danny's pack if our pack protects her." I pleaded to him, but I was met with silence.

"Barry! You better put your sister in a damn cell! Don't make me hunt you." I shouted to him.

"Who are you talking to?" Dylan looked at me with red eyes. "They found her, didn't they?" He shouted again, but I didn't respond. I needed a minute to think.

Dylan lost his patience and pushed me out of his way. "She won't get away with this." He spit out then ran out of the tent to his pack. He was shouting how Sophia, the Delta's sister forcefully marked him. He demanded for her death and that they can't let the Silver Moon Pack protect her.

People began shouting that they don't belong to any pack. They didn't want to take orders from Liam or me. I heard shouts how they should retreat, hid as rogues until they find a new pack not at war with Demetrius.

I have to do something.

"Barry, please don't leave me. I can't do any of this without you."
