Fireflies

One warm night in Gravity Falls, Dipper, Mabel, and Wendy were out in the yard after their shifts.
"Ugh." Mabel sighed. "This is boring. Dipper! Put on some music."
"Okay." Dipper turned on the radio and Fireflies came on.
"Oh man!" Wendy said. "I love this song." The twins smiled and nodded as if to say 'same'. Mabel got up and ran into the yard, playing with the fireflies she saw ahead.

You would not believe your eyes.
If ten million fireflies.
Lit up the world as I fell asleep.

Mabel looked up the two people in front of her.
"Come on guys!" She pleaded, still trying to catch the fireflies near her.

'Cause they fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere.
You think me rude but I would just stand and stare.

Dipper looked at Wendy as if to say 'do you want to?' Wendy smiled and grabbed her friends hand, leading him to where Mabel was.

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns
Slowly.
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep.
'Cause everything is never as it seems.

Together, all three of them caught as many fireflies as they could, laughing and smiling the whole time.

'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs.
As they tried to teach me how to dance.

As Dipper tried to catch one, his hand touched Wendy's.

A foxtrot above my head
A sock hop beneath my bed
The disco ball is just hanging by a thread.

Dipper blushed and tried to look away, hoping Wendy would do the same.

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
When I fall asleep.

Wendy smiled and looked at her embarrassed friend.

Leave my door open just a crack.
Please take me away from here.
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac.
Please take me away from here.

Slowly, Wendy took the rest of his hand into her's, intertwining their fingers.

Why do I tire of counting sheep?
Please take me away from here.
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep.

Dipper looked up at her and blushed deeply. But smiled a shy but happy smile back.

To ten million fireflies,
I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell.

Wendy kept Dippers hand in her's and kept running and chasing fireflies, having Dipper dragging behind her.

But I'll know where several are,
If my dreams get real bizarre.
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar.

As they ran, Wendy tripped on a nearby stick and came tumbling down. Dipper soon came after.

When I fall asleep.

Finally, Dipper found himself laying on top of his not-so-secret crush and blushed deeply. Wendy's eyes softened but blushed as well. Mabel looked over and saw the scene. She smiled, but kept her excitement inside so she wouldn't ruin the moment.

It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
Because my dreams are bursting at the seams.

The song soon ended and Dipper and Wendy leaned in, closing the space between them. Mabel's eyes gleamed with excitement as she saw her brother getting his first kiss by the girl he thought would never like him. They soon pulled away and smiled, cheeks both beet red, but soon kissed again.
