MePhone3GS was laying in bed, staring straight up at the ceiling. He thought today would be decent. Last night was fun. Why did he have to ruin everything?

There was a knock on the door. 3GS scrambled out of bed to answer it.

"Hi, Nickel."

"Hey," Nickel was holding her sketchbook and avoiding eye contact. "I just came to... talk... I guess."

"Okay!" 3GS took a step back and smiled. "Come in!"

Nickel seemed confused by the hospitality, hesitantly stepping into the room. She looked behind her for a moment or two before closing the door. She sat down on the bed 3GS didn't use.

"Okay, I just wanted to... apologize," She started. "For upsetting you like that. I... the who-raised-you thing was completely uncalled for. I know you Cobses have issues, but I was too mad to think right. I'm sorry."

3GS was quiet. Why was Nickel apologizing? She didn't do anything wrong. It was 3GS' fault that it only took some yelling to set him off like that.

"There's no need to say sorry," 3GS said. Nickel made a weird face.

"Does that mean you forgive me?" She asked. 3GS nodded, and it was quiet for a few seconds.

"So..." Nickel muttered, averting her eyes. "You... like to draw?"

"Mhm," 3GS nodded. "I'm not very good at it, though."

Nickel giggled. "Yup. Um... do you want to see my sketchbook?"

"The last time I tried to look at it you yelled at me."

"Well, that's because you grabbed it without giving me half a second to process what was going on. Do you still want to look at it?"

"Sure," 3GS smiled nervously, then sat down next to Nickel, who opened her sketchbook to the page she was drawing on yesterday. He didn't look at the sketch right away, though.

"Your arm's a robot," He observed. Nickel looked at him funny. "I didn't notice that before."

"How did you not notice?"

3GS shrugged. "Because I'm stupid?"

Nickel held back a laugh, and 3GS looked back at the sketch. It was a portrait of Nickel smiling mischievously. It was nice to look at. He looked at it for a while.

"I like it," He said. "This is supposed to be you, right?"

"Obviously."

"Ah. I could tell by the hair. Strange, the face doesn't really look much like yours."

"How so?" Nickel asked.

"Your nose doesn't look like that," 3GS replied. "Yours kinda goes like..." He gestured his finger in a downward curve. "Shwoop! And the drawing's kinda goes like..." He did the same gesture, this time going upwards. He made the shwoop sound again, but with a higher pitch. "And the face is rounder than yours."

"Um!" Nickel's face flushed. "I-I'm allowed to idealize my features, y'know! My artstyle is idealized, so it's only natural I'd change myself a little bit!"

"I think your regular face is ideal enough," 3GS declared. Nickel's eyes widened and her blush deepened. She let go of her sketchbook and used her one (robotic) arm to cover half of her face. Her hair covered the other half.

"Shut up," She mumbled.

"Did I say something wrong?" 3GS asked.

"No!" Nickel snapped, then uncovered her face. She didn't look at 3GS, though. "No... That just caught me off-guard. Um, thanks? I guess?"

"You are very welcome," 3GS smiled. He noticed Nickel was about to cover her face again, but she stopped, then closed her sketchbook. He got a random idea. "Can I draw you?"

"I thought you already did?" Nickel smirked.

"That was a circle with legs."

They both laughed.

"Okay, seriously," 3GS said. "Can I draw you? For real this time?"

"Sure," Nickel opened her sketchbook to a blank page, then handed it to 3GS. She took a mechanical pencil out of her pocket and handed that to him too. "Do you need me to pose for you or what?"

"That would be ideal," 3GS replied. He stood up to get a better look at her, then started to draw. He was never the biggest fan of mechanical pencils. The regular ones felt more natural to write with. He tried his best to make the drawing look good and accurate to Nickel's face. He kept making mistakes and erasing them, and after a while, he felt his drawing was decent enough. He gave Nickel her sketchbook back.

"I'm sorry, it's not very good," He said. Nickel stared at the page for a while. If she wasn't starting to smile, 3GS would say she looked close to tears.

"Thanks," Nickel eventually said, smiling wide. Her smile was nice. It made 3GS happy seeing her smile like that. "Uh, I'll leave you alone now. See ya."

"Goodbye!" 3GS walked to the door and opened it for her. She grinned at him as she left. It made him smile, too.
