Percy POV:

That's it. I'm done. Let me rewind. It was the Giant War. I don't remember much, except for two things. I killed Gaia, and the love of my life died.

•Flashback•

I had just killed Gaia, and everyone was alive. Thank Gods. I saw Annabeth, her beautiful princess curls bouncing as she walked to me. Suddenly, my beautiful girlfriend fell to her knees. I ran to her, all the water following me. The image of her flickered, until I saw a blonde body on the floor. No, no no. It can't be. I ran faster, until I reached my Annabeth. All around me, things started flickering, until I saw what was actually happening.

The Gods were tied up and desperately trying to untie themselves, and there were bodies littered all around, but only one caught my attention. My beautiful girlfriend. I stabbed Riptide into the ground and kneeled. "Annabeth, Annabeth you better open those pretty grey eyes." Her eyes fluttered open, and she spoke gently to me. "Percy, I love you. See you in Elysium. Move on and live your life." She tucked some loose hair behind my ear. I leaned forward and kissed her, when I saw something sticking out from my stomach. I was stabbed. I uncapped Riptide, and killed the empousa, without even knowing. "Don't go, please. I need you." I spoke to her with tears in my eyes, but it was too late. I pressed her forehead to mine, when my wound started burning. The knife- it was poisoned. Good anyways. I would just get to see my beloved Annabeth even earlier.

I saw the Gods in my head, and started talking. I grabbed my stomach wound tight.  "You make us do, too much labour. All day, everyday, demigod, "replaceable", myth then disposed of, warrior then a servant, just an appendage, live to attend them so that they never lift a finger," I looked down at my wound, then all the blood on my hands. I grasped it even tighter, "24/7 fighting machine, so you can live out your immortal dreams. It's not an act of love if you make us, you make me do too much labour."

The Gods finally untied themselves, and ran in front of me. Athena weeped, so did I. "Percy-" my Dad started. "No, Poseidon," I could tell my words stung, as I had only ever called him my father. "Go. Help the others. Help Leo, and Piper, and Thalia and Nico. You say I'm mature, for 17? It's the trauma." As they left, I doubled over in pain.
