La_iloise note:

For those readers who seem confused about Kang Ha or the lead character in this K-drama on Netflix, I have made a change to avoid confusion. If I used "Kang Ha" only, I would always have to say his full name. Since his brother is Kang In Han, I changed it to Kang In Ha.

Rian's mom's Bulgari necklace must be worth 100 million won," Yi Je said, while Seohyun looked at her in shock.

"100 million won! How much are her earrings worth altogether?" she asked, still unable to believe that Rian's mother was wearing such expensive jewelry.

"They're on another level. Look, Yun Seok's mom is wearing Van Cleef. You can't buy those anymore," Ye Ji said as two middle-aged women approached them.

"You two, what are you doing chatting and eating? Don't you have anyone to greet?" one of the women said, prompting Seohyun to reply, "They seem busy," which made her mother nudge her.

"Didn't I always tell you to make the right connections from a young age?" she said, eyeing her daughter, who began to look around while Ye Ji stared at her mother, dumbfounded.

"It's so embarrassing," Ye Ji muttered, her mother glaring at her.

Spotting the cake pastry table, she noticed a girl in a dress helping another customer. Nudging her daughter, she said, "Look at that girl. I don't know her, but she seems to be from the party and can communicate with the wealthy by giving them ideas about cakes."

Ye Ji and Seohyun turned to look, their jaws dropping.

"It's Ellie," Seohyun whispered, watching as Ellie talked to one of the biggest CEOs, offering a cake from Mrs. Kim, known for her famous cakes at events.

"What the hell is she doing here?" Ye Ji asked in shock, making the woman glance at her.

"That scholarship girl," Sunyeok sighed.

"Ellie must be working part-time here," Seohyun speculated, her voice tinged with jealousy. "How does she know Mrs. Kim?"

"Maybe she's just good at networking," Yi Je suggested. "Look at how comfortably she's talking to everyone. She must have some skills."

"Well, whatever it is, she's making an impression," Seohyun's mother said, a hint of approval in her voice. "You could learn a thing or two from her."

Seohyun and Ye Ji exchanged looks, their feelings of admiration overshadowed by a burning jealousy.

"Why does she always get these opportunities?" Seohyun muttered under her breath.

"Yeah, it's like she has some kind of magic charm," Ye Ji added, her eyes narrowing as she watched Ellie laugh with the CEO.

As Ellie continued to charm the guests, Seohyun and Ye Ji couldn't help but feel a mix of envy and resentment, their eyes glued to the girl who seemed to effortlessly steal the spotlight.
