Siya Maheswari was a well-known lawyer, admired for her sharp wit and stunning appearance. With dark, captivating eyes that seemed to hold a thousand secrets, warm vanilla skin, and a smile that could melt the coldest hearts, it was no wonder Justin had fallen deeply in love with her.

But this story wasn’t about her love. It was about loyalty. About comradeship.

Siya was Aanya Singhania’s closest colleague, someone Aanya trusted implicitly. When one of Shanaya Raisinghani’s partners recommended Siya for an urgent case involving betrayal and confidential papers, Siya agreed, her professionalism never in question.

Yet, on the day of the meeting, fate played its hand. Siya’s phone died, and personal matters kept her away. In a rare moment of need, she called upon Aanya for help.

“Can you take this meeting for me?” she had asked, her voice rushed and apologetic.

Aanya hesitated. She never took on cases this impulsively, but for Siya, she would make an exception.

Shanaya had rented the entire café, a cozy place nestled in the heart of the city, wanting privacy to discuss the betrayal that had shaken her trust. She sat at a corner table, drumming her fingers nervously, glancing at the clock as the minutes ticked by. The café was quiet, filled only with the soft hum of the espresso machine and the muted murmur of classical music playing in the background.

The doorbell chimed, signaling someone's arrival. Shanaya looked up, expecting Siya’s familiar face.

But it was Aanya.

Their eyes met, and for a brief, shattering moment, the world seemed to tilt. A rush of emotions hit Shanaya—joy, sadness, and an inexplicable ache that twisted like a knife in her chest. Her breath caught, and she felt her heart stutter.

Across the room, Aanya froze, feeling a similar pang. Her gaze was steady, but her hands trembled ever so slightly as she tightened her grip on the folder she carried. There was something painfully familiar about Shanaya’s face, something she couldn’t quite grasp.

They were strangers. And yet, they weren’t.

The moment hung in the air, heavy and suffused with a sense of longing that neither could name.

Would they remember? Or were they destined to remain strangers, passing each other like ships in the night?

(The story of justin and siya will be posted weekly at the end of the part )
