They looked like celestial warriors summoned by prophecy, flowing robes and crisp uniforms in place. Y/N locked eyes with Dahyun just for a second.
No time for anything more.
They murmured apologies for their lateness and took their seats.
The Queen turned her attention back to Y/N.
"I called all of you here today because you will be accompanying the Leventis on her journey-and helping her awaken."
Everyone blinked.
Wait. They were looking for the Leventis?
Then...
Her.
The Queen continued, calm and matter-of-fact. "The last Leventis died eighteen years ago. She was reborn shortly after-as the cycle demands. And since the cycle flows between Queendoms, this time... she was born here."
Every head in the room turned toward Y/N.
No.
No.
No.
"I-I'm sorry, what? Me?" Y/N squeaked. "That can't be right."
"You're past eighteen. Born in this Queendom. You've exhibited the signs," the Queen said, her voice gentle. "The ache in your right arm, the delay in your power. You were likely blocked, as all Leventis are at first. But the signs are there."
Y/N stared at her, her voice caught halfway between denial and outright laughter. "This is a mistake. I don't even have powers. I can't even open those doors without a guard."
Whispers rippled around the room.
The King and Queen exchanged glances-realizing something.
"She didn't know?" the King whispered.
"Oh boy," the Queen murmured, visibly grim. "She didn't."
Panic unfurled in Yn's chest like a thousand wings.
"You expect me to... what? Go fight an invading kingdom with some past lives I've never met and powers I don't even have yet?"
"You won't be alone," the Queen said. "These young leaders-your friends-will guide you. Protect you. Teach you."
"And when your powers return," the King added, "you'll have the wisdom of your former selves to guide you."
Y/N felt like her brain short-circuited.
She looked at her friends, all now staring at her in varying states of shock, concern, awe.
And then she did the only thing that made sense.
She laughed.
"Cool, cool, cool," she said, voice hollow. "So I'm the mystical reincarnated soul of the world's magical savior and you want me to lead a war campaign. In my early adulthood. With no power. No training. And a sore arm." she giggled "great, love it"
She slumped back in her chair.
"I'm definitely gonna throw up."

It had been three full days since Lin Yn's palace visit. Three days since the words "You are the Leventis" were dropped on her head like a meteor that no one saw coming.
Since then, she had gone quiet.
Not the eerie, suspicious kind of quiet. But the quiet that comes from a mind working in overdrive. She had become less talking, more thinking. Her words rationed, her presence distant.
