The next morning Yn woke up to the quiet weight of too many limbs, tangled and draped across her like a blanket. For a moment, she lay perfectly still, eyes half-lidded, trying to feel which leg was hers and which one belonged to the two other humans currently starfished across her body. Someone's hair was in her mouth-probably Sana's And someone else was snoring softly, curled up at her feet like a cat. Jeongyeon? No. Momo maybe?
A knee jabbed her side as someone shifted.
Okay. Not hers.
With a sigh, Y/N gently nudged Chaeyoung's shoulder. "Chaeng. Hey. Up."
Chaeyoung groaned something incomprehensible and rolled deeper into the blankets. Yn resorted to the failsafe-tickling behind her ear.
"Mmmph-stop! Fine, I'm awake!" she whined, batting her hand away.
"Good. Now move." Y/N didn't wait. She twisted and shoved the other two girls off the bed-one landed with a squawk, the other with a thud and a grumble.
"Wake uuuuup! It's school day!" Y/N announced lazily, dragging herself to her feet like a reluctant zombie. She shuffled out the door and down the hall, slamming her fist against MiSaHyo's room door with all the energy she could master this early in the morning.
"Rise and suffer, my angels! School waits for no one!" she yelled, then cupped her hand around her mouth. "You have like, ten minutes before I come in with cold water!"
A muffled "NOOOO" came from inside,- definitely jeong's- followed by the sound of something crashing to the floor.
Next stop: Jeongyeon and Momo's room-or at least, it used to be. After last night, it had been claimed by Tzuyu and Nayeon instead.
Y/N opened the door and was immediately greeted by a thrown pillow.
"Nooo," Nayeon moaned from under the sheets. "You're not real. This is a nightmare. Five more hours."
"You wish," Y/N muttered, stepping around the mess. "Where's Tzuyu?"
Silence.
"...Tzuyu?"
A suspicious shuffle. Y/N squinted and crouched.
And there she was-curled under the bed like a goblin avoiding taxes.
"Tzuyu."
"No school on Saturdays," came the deadpan reply.
"It's a half day, and your ancestors didn't survive thousands of wars for you to hide under furnitures," Yn said, tugging at her ankle.
"Watch me."
Yn stood, dusting her hands. "You've got five minutes. Then I'm pouring Syrup on that pretty face of yours."
She marched back into the hall, the smile slipping from her face as she turned toward the final door.
Chaeyoung and Dahyun's room.
She paused.
Okay. Lion's den.
She knocked. Once. Twice. Three slow taps.
No answer.
She turned the knob and slipped inside.
Darkness.
The curtains were drawn tight, shutting out the morning sun. The air was still and heavy. Dahyun lay curled on her bed, a bundled-up figure in a mountain of blankets, not a single inch of skin visible.
