"Oh.. yeah." she nodded, laughing awkwardly "Food looks delicious."

With that, she digged into the salad.

"What are you thinking about?"

She jumped, not expecting Ross to show up out of nowhere.

After a couple of hours into the dinner, she'd been getting a little exhausted, so she decided it was a good time to leave.

She'd said her good byes, hugged basically every single person- here Ross included, and.. left.

Except before she stepped out of the restaurant, rain started pouring down.

She could take her chances, get absolutely soaked and run to her car that had been parked so damn far off in the parking lot, due to no parking space available.

Or.. she could wait.

She didn't want to turn back around to the dinner, so she simply stood on the mini patio, leaned against a wall, staring into the rain with a long.. deep stare.

That was the first thing he'd noticed, after he'd followed after her.

He felt something weird about her energy, but he couldn't ask in between so many people, so he waited a while after she said bye.

He was certain that by the time he walked out.. she'd had left.

But.. she was right there, resting against the wall, and barely far from the rain, as it fell on her boots, but didn't catch the rest of her where she was standing.

She had her arms crossed, and there was no one coming in and out anymore.. as it was quite late in the night.

In between the strong breath of fresh air, that smelled like rain and burnt wood, and the lights emitting behind her from the restaurant, he felt like he was staring right into a painting.

A mysteries painting of a girl, whose feelings had yet to be discovered.

Finally, a painting he could walk into. A world he could touch.

She didn't notice his presence until he walked closer, and when he spoke, he could tell he startled her out of her thoughs.

"What's on your mind?" he spoke again, now quieter, as her eyes widened.

"Nothing." she looked away from him, furrowing her brows "You scared me."

"I'm sorry." he murmured, leaning against the wall, like she'd been doing.

"Waiting for the rain to lessen." she felt she needed to explain herself "The car's too far."

He didn't say a thing.. mostly because.. well he knew it was half of the reason she was still here.

She'd been deep in thought, and sometimes.. we all needed that serenity.. the time to think.

They stood there in silence for a minute too long, before Ross spoke up "Is everything okay, love?"
