Chapter 6
"Good afternoon." Stormie calls out, as Ross walks in the living room, dropping himself on the couch "It's two pm."
"I was awake, I was just on my phone." he rolled his eyes.
Living with his mom had him feeling like a teenager again.
"When did you get to sleep last night?" she questioned, as Super ran up to Ross.
He took Super in his lap, before thinking about it for a bit, before shrugging "Uh.. two thirty, or three. I don't know."
"Oh you guys stayed that late?" she questioned, a bit surprised.
"Nah- just had to drive Laura home and drive back." he spoke up, now distracted because Super had escaped his arms and trying to climb his back.
He had it coming with how many times he held him up there.
"Woah wait are you guys hanging out again?" Rydel asked, now a bit more into the conversation.
She'd brought the kids to mom's as usual, just to hang out, as Stormie was pretty amazing at taking care of the babies.
But since Ross lived here now.. he'd had to help a lot with the kids as well.
"It was a cast hang out." he raised a brow "But yeah no shit we're working together."
"No I mean-" she interrupted herself, to roll her eyes and sigh "I'm talking about the drop off part."
"She drank quite a bit. I wasn't letting her get in an uber." he raised his eyebrows "I'm not an ass."
"That is so sweet." Stormie smiled.
"You guys love asking about her huh?" he noticed.
He'd noticed that before, to be honest- every time he'd mention her, his mom and sister were the first ones to ask.
"Well yeah- I mean she was part of our lives too." Rydel shrugged "I wanna see her sometime."
"You'll probably get to." he pulled Super off his shoulders, because at this point, he'd go bald if he let him stay up there a second more.
"And your friendship is like the most precious thing." Stormie mentioned "Of course I'll ask about her. Why wouldn't I?"
He thought about it for a second, before shrugging "I guess."
There was something else Stormie wanted to say, but she held onto it instead.
She liked Laura for the person she was, for how sweet she was, and knowing she'd practically grown up around her family, but apart from that.. she loved how Ross acted around her.
It never ever did change, no matter how much time passed. How caring he was, how smiley he was- always in a good mood.
It lit up her world when she saw him smile, and Laura had a way of keeping that smile on his face constantly.
A thing, she didn't think Ross noticed either.
"Is Rocky here by the way? Or did he leave?" Ross questioned.
"He's out with dad." Rydel shrugged "Why?"
"He said he'd come look at houses with me." he spoke up "Probably would be good to get dad too. Where'd they go?"
"I think Mark said he'd go buy something I'm not sure." Stormie shrugged "Call them."
And so he did, because even though he was moving on his own this time around, he needed some more opinions when it came to looking at houses.
