" Ok yall have until the end of class to finish the problems on the board, once you're done bring the paper to me." The teacher explained the instructions before sitting down at her desk. " Ma'lya and Isiah come here for a second."
They both paused their conversation and got out of their seats to see what the teacher wanted.
" So I see that you and Isiah seem to get along fairly well and since he is a new student hes behind on this unit." She said to Ma'lya then turned her attention to Isiah. " Im not exactly sure if they taught you the current subject we're learning now but im just going to assume they didn't and have Ma'lya help you catch up, does that sound good to y'all?"
Both students nodded in response.
" Ok so im going to give you all the assignments from this unit, which is only about 5 since we started it not to long ago." The teacher said before handing him the assignments he missed. " You guys can go back to your seats and finish your assignment."
With that, Ma'lya and Isiah headed back to their seats. She helped him with his assignment up until the bell rung. Once it rung, they both gathered their belongings and headed to lunch.
" Lya girllll." Kamiya dragged while walking up to Ma'lya and Isiah.
" Hey yayaaa." Ma'lya greeted her.
" Who dis?" She asked while scanning the unknown boy infront of her.
" This my friend Isiah from wayyy back. He jus moved back from Florida." Ma'lya answered.
" Oh really now, how come you never told me nothin about him?"
" Well i never needed to bring him up, nd we barely talked during the time he was away." Ma'lya shrugged.
" Nah girl i think you jus trynna gatekeep." Kamiya joked.
" Uh ok." Ma'lya awkwardly laughed. They all walked around the cafeteria and found a table.
" Ou lya girl, that style getting old. You need to get it redone." Kamiya commented out of the blue as they sat down.
" Um i know that, Im supposed to be getting my hair done this weekend." she scrunched up her face.
" Im tired." Isiah finally spoke while laying his head on Ma'lyas shoulder.
" Yall dating? I thought you jus got out of a relationship lya?" Kamiya pointed between the two.
" No... I told you hes my friend. Nd why are you bring that up anyways? Even if i jus got out of a relationship im allowed to move on whenever I want." Ma'lya tilted her head at Kamiya.
" Girl calm down i was jus asking." Kamiya waved her off. " Anyways, what part of florida are you moving here from?"
" Jacksonville." He stated bluntly with his eyes still closed and his head still leaned on Ma'lya shoulder.
