Leilani's Pov
The only person who understands what I'm going through is my little sister. i'm the oldest out of the three of us ,and the youngest is my little brother and he's only two years old . I'm 23 which makes Layla and I seven years apart. Four years ago I knew what I was doing for joining the drug business , but I had no idea that my little sister would find out and follow in my footsteps . I felt for her but I knew that she had a big heart .
Mom had explained everything see me it's all me to keep it a secret from my sister. It was very hard for me because I raised her as one of my own and I'm never actually live with mama. I feel like a Layla treats me as if I'm her mom rather than our real mother. I could feel something about some of our family was left behind . As I was in the kitchen I began to talk to my mother.
"Hey mom what's up." I sister feeling emotional as my Spanish accent became understandable. That's one thing the whole family shared in common and I know it's a little babies were going to growing into the accent .
"Hey Lei , I need to talk to you about Something ." She said and I nodded , still attempting to watch her cook breakfast
"Yes mama , what you necesita ?" We always would speak English but every now and then throw in the Spanish word. Necesita means "need" in Spanish .
"I don't know how to tell Layla that I want to move back to San Francisco with her step dad " she paused and continued "I know it's going to be hard for me to tell her, I can so tell by the way she looks at him that she can't stand him . " mama said and began to get teary eyed .
"Mom is OK I handle everything. I see what I can do for you and her , so both of you can be happy and do what you love. " I said making myself a hint on wether or not if Layla told her yet , which that answered my question.
"Gracias Lei , please talk to her for me ." She said and I nodded walking out the kitchen .
"Mama quiere va a San Frandisco Durante el Summer - " she cut me off with her facial expression and I forgot that she didn't want me to speak Spanish around her . I continued but this Time in English , and sighed "mama want to move back to San Fransisco and you can come live with me down here in my apartment right down the hall until she gets back , but Lord only know when that is ." I said reassuring her that nothing too serious had happened .
"Look you can tell mama that she can go ,but I'm not I'm not going that's the thing." She said as she paused and then continued "I don't like Anthony and I don't give a flying fuck if he don't like me either , but I ain't going down there to loose everything and everybody I love ." She said giving me a weak smile .
"Okay , but you gone have to live with either me or TeLinda . You can't stay here by yourself ." As I raised an eyebrow for her response .
"Okay , I'll stay with you . " she said while dismissing the conversation .
"Yo Te Amo Lei . " she said while looking at me with a weak smile . I loved my sister to death and everything in me would do any and everything for her when ever she need me .
"I love you too Lay . " returning the love as I paused to see how was I going to ask her this question. "Did you have a so mom about what you out there doing ? " I asked with a smile on my face and quickly dropped it once I noticed she didn't have anything to say .
"I'll give you two months to tell her but after that you don't tell her you're leaving with her ." I said taking control trying to be an adult that I was .
"OK OK OK fine I'll tell her ! " she whined and I nodded walking back into the living room plopping onto the couch turning the tv that was on Wheel Of Fortune .
Layla's POV
My sister Leilani was making me tell my mother everything that was going on. I knew it was going to be hard for me, especially since her brother was involved in a shot out on North 73rd street. I didn't know how to take the news that I had received but sooner or later I'd have to prepare my heart to become Heartless. Nobody knew a hundred percent of my story besides my sister .
