"What on earth?" He mumbled to himself. Fan turned to him.
"Behold, the portal of rejection!" He announced. "A very efficient method of travel! Kind of feels like a headrush, but it's perfectly safe as long as it doesn't abruptly close and chop a limb off!"
"How does that even work?" 3GS asked, leaning over the portal to get a good look. He had to stop pretty quickly, though. Looking at it made him dizzy.
"Beats me," Fan shrugged. "C'mon, hop in!"
"I don't think I want to."
"Don't think like that!" Bot smiled at 3GS. "It's less scary if you close your eyes first."
"They're right!" Said Fan. "And if that doesn't help, you can hold onto someone! Like me!" He pointed to himself and grinned.
"You don't have to do all that," 3GS said. "I'll just... close my eyes. Watch me."
He braced himself, squeezed his eyes shut, and took a step toward the portal. He took another step, then all of a sudden, he was falling. He yelped, his eyes shooting open. The only thing he could see was pure light before he landed on a trampoline. He stumbled, then toppled stupidly off the side, hitting grass. He could see that this side of the portal hovered in the air, with the trampoline placed beneath it to break falls. He looked around and observed his surroundings. There was no snow on the ground, but plenty of grass and flowers. He could see palm trees(which he didn't think were real until just now) and a large building in the distance. It was also significantly warmer than it was on Inanimate Island.
He heard some warpy portal sounds behind him, then Fan landed on the ground next to him, but on his feet instead of his back, which totally wasn't what 3GS fell on.
"Oh, Paradise, how I've missed you!" He pointed aggressively at the building. "There's the library! See?"
"Yes," Said 3GS. He crossed his arms. "I'm not stupid."
The sound of somebody else coming through the portal could be heard, then the sound of Bot cheering. He turned his head and confirmed that Bot and Cabby had arrived. When he turned his head back, he was greeted by what must've been the strangest thing he had seen in a very long time.
He flinched when he saw it; a humanoid creature whose bottom half seemed to be stuck in the ground. Its entire body was covered in grass, save for a few scuffed patches that showed dirt underneath. Its hair was long and stringy, probably also made of grass, and a single yellow flower grew out of its chest where its heart should be, although 3GS wouldn't be surprised if this creature lacked internal organs.
"Hey, guys!" The creature said, smiling to reveal that its teeth were freakishly sharp. 3GS didn't even realize he had assumed a defensive stance until the creature gave him a weird look. "You alright, mate?"
"What are you?!" 3GS exclaimed.
"Oh," The creature glanced away for a second before smiling again. "I'm not really sure what I am, but I can tell you who I am! Name's The Floor, but that's a little too fancy, yeah? Call me Floory!"
3GS gave Floory a glare, mostly just trying to act intimidating, and like he wasn't extremely confused on what he was looking at. Floory held out a hand for 3GS to shake, which he didn't. His hand looked weird. He didn't even have opposable thumbs.
"This is MePhone3GS," Fan said, taking a step toward Floory and motioning to 3GS. "He's been kind of sheltered, so he probably thinks you're weird, but please be nice to him, okay?"
"I can do that!"
Then Floory retreated into the ground with a bizarre popping noise. MePhone3GS didn't get why he left. Cabby suggested the group head to the library, so they did.
