Bravest

Summer was one of the best highlights. I have learned a lot from him, especially from what he is best at. Painting.

First week of May was solemnly spent with him on that art studio. He is a good teacher.

"Don't overdo your details. It's more pleasant if you do it simple yet well-defined. 'Saka na sa heavy details. We're learning the basics here, Phil," aniya nang masyado akong na-excite at hindi na nakapag-isip nang tama.

I dropped the brush gently and tugged him a bit.

"Oh."

He let his finger touch mine. He did the bit of shadings and showed me how is it done.

"Just do it this way," aniya, doing the touchings of brush gently.

His art materials are so beautiful and very quality. Iba iba iyon at napakarami. From the light shades to darker ones, lahat ng iyon ay nakaka-engganyong gamitin. I wonder how he feels looking at each of them, especially that he creates masterpiece out of these materials?

Tumangu-tango ako. A little embarass from it.

"Ah. So light touches muna. This is hard, Gideon," I pouted at him.

I took another kind of brush, iyong manipis lang, at sinunod ang ginagawa niya. I find it really hard, but I also find it interesting to do.

"You can do it. I am here," he assured and started guiding my hands with his this time.

I couldn't perfect the blending of the colors.

This is really hard, and very complicated. It looks easy for him, but I can just only imagine the hassles and his struggles perfecting his arts. Hindi rin madali sa kaniya. But he loves art so he enjoys it, no matter how hard to do them some times.

"Try these colors. The lavender will add a light shade to the sky, and white will balance it, too."

He was patient as he teaches me. He is very indulgent when it comes to me. He lifts me up in times when I fail to do my art. He encourages me to do better the next time we do it again. He will never be rude when trying to instill even the newest things to me. I will never feel like I lack of it, or it's not just for me. Hindi niya ako sinukuan kahit malimit akong magreklamo, as he will always remind me that learning takes time, as long as I don't stop pursuing myself to do it better.

That art is for everyone who is willing to make beauty and change out of it.

My hand was a little shaky. I felt pressure when he left me there, and watch me do it alone from a little distance instead.

Tiningala ko siya.

"Do some soft touches if you want to polish minor details, Phil."

It might ruin the mood of colors.

It turned out good eventually, and I am satisfied.

I let out a relieving sigh.

Pinakita ko iyon sa kaniya. I smiled widely. This is gonna be my first painting. Hopefully, I can do better next time.
