"Seriously? You couldn't wait for me a second?"

She doesn't reply, only looking at the tent.

My look follows her gaze. Is she looking at this guy? The one leaning on the table while talking to some girl?

I look back at Kylie. Pretty sure that's right.

"Is it him?" I risk.

She looks at me.

"What are you talking about?" She asks. But we both know what I meant.

"Sorry, I reply. That's none of my business."

"It is, she ignores my last sentence. He is..."

"Well, she corrects herself, he WAS my best friend."

"Sorry", I murmur.

"It's okay", she replies.

As we pass at the tent's level, Kylie doesn't speak, only gazing towards her ex-best friend.

This must hurt so much. I wish I could do something for her not to suffer like that.

Well, I can do something.

"Kylie?" I ask, bringing her look back to me.

"Hmm?" She leaves her reverie.

"We'll make the most of this evening, promise?" I stop walking.

I show her my pinkie.

She laughs: "I didn't do that since years"

"I know, me too", I chuckle too.

"Well", she puts her pinkie on mine. "Like old times, she says, pinkie promise."

I smile.

"Addison, Kylie, you're here", Levi walks towards us.

We let go of the other's pinkie, chuckling.

Levi turns around, he obviously doesn't care about our childish traditions.

"They're here!" He says louder for the others to hear.

A guy from the circle formed by the people sitting around the campfire gets up. That's when I recognize this 'guy' as Charlie. He's wearing a white shirt and black pants.

I chuckle as he approaches.

"Why are you dressed with so much elegance?"

Levi and Kylie walk towards the campfire, leaving us alone.

"That hits hard", he fakes being shot with an arrow.

I laugh at his stupidity.

"Did you mean I don't usually dress with elegance?"

I roll my eyes.

"Of course not, and you know it."

I take his hand in mine.

"I'm just surprised you're dressed that way to go to a party on the beach."

I can't help but laugh again.

"Go on, laugh at me", he smiles.

I try to stop my laugher, biting my lip.

I look right back in his eyes.

My, he looks so handsome in this moment, sunlight stopping on his face as if he was an actor on stage lit by spotlights.

"You stopped laughing", he notices.
