The fingerprint detector beeps and the door opened to reveal a giant room.

It was all grey and black.
Nunchakus were hung on the walls, different types of guns were stored in furniture, everyday gadgets transformed into weapons were scattered on tables and chairs.
Mannequins were half on the ground.
It was a weird mess.
People were fighting in a room separated by a glass wall.

What the...

"Yeah, I know!"

I turned to see who was talking and Delilah was sitting on a table behind me.

"Wait...did you just read my mind?"

"Yeah!" She responded with a little too much of enthusiasm.

"Without my permission?" I said with a little bit of angriness.

"Yeah...
But how do you know I read your mind?"

"Because I felt it. It was like it happened a few times before."

"Oh yeah, right.
Well, we used to train together to learn controlling our powers."

"I have powers?"

"Yes of course. Everyone else here does."

"What's mine?"

"Um..."

"What is it? Why don't you want to tell me?"

"Maybe Kyle will tell you. He's the one who helps the others to train. He has like a protection power. So he cannot be hurt physically are mentally."

"I have to talk to him."

"He's right there, in the training room."

I walked in.
He was hitting hard a punching ball.
He looked angry and sad at the same time.
He didn't see that I was here and couldn't hear me : he had earphones in his ears and he was making a lot of noise with the punching.

When he finally stopped himself, he noticed me.
He seemed lost to see me.

"Hey Kyle!" I said.

He didn't respond.

"What's wrong?"

He didn't respond either.

"Are you like this because of me?"

"Yes." He finally said.

"What did I do?"

"Nothing."

"So why are you mad?"

"I'm not mad. I'm just...confuse.
Like, I haven't seen you since..."

"Since when?"

"Since the moment I told you I loved you.
Then, you looked angry, you said you need some air, you took your car and months passed until we found you.
We thought you were dead or something." His voice broke a little at the end.

He started crying.
I walked and hugged him.
He wrapped his arms around my waist as his tears wet my t-shirt.

"It's okay. I'm here now."

"Yes but you remember nothing!
All the time we spent together laughing and joking about everything, you forgot.
And the worst is that I can't even blame you, because it's not your fault."

"I'm sorry, we'll do it all again.
If it can make you smile.
I don't remember a lot of things but I can tell that you're someone important in my life."

He smiled.
He's the type of person who have a smile that can light up a hole town.

"So, I came here because Delilah told me that you can tell me about my powers." I said.

"Oh. Yes. It's true."
He made a weird face.

"You're really, how can I say...
Powerful."

"And?"

"Well it's dangerous. For you, for all of us. Are you sure you want to know your power and all that comes with?"

"Yes."
