Prologue

ever since i was a kid, my mom and my dad always compliments my beauty. hindi ko na nga alam kung ilang hair salon, nail salon at iba pa ang napuntahan namin. ilang skin care at make ups na rin ang nagamit ko para panatilihan ang mukha kong ito.

mayroon akong maputing mga balat kagaya ng gatas, chinitang mga mata, pointed at maliit na ilong, mala-rosas na mga labi at oval shaped na mukha. hindi lamang iyon, pati ang hugis at hubog ng aking katawan ay kinagigiliwan ng lahat kagaya na lamang ng aking mala-hour glass na waist at mahabang mga paa. mayroon din akong abot waist na buhok.

people always says that i am the standard of beauty. i’m their standards.

but...  like all of the things in the world, my beauty and the best thing of my life ruined me.

i remember, i was 15 this time when i gor encourage to color my brown hair. i don’t want to look like my parents so i agreed.

i colored my hair, pastel pink with one strand with red.

“what did you just do, Hermione??” my mom ask hesterically after i came home with this hair color.

“what?” i tiredly said. i’m tired of all their nonsense. why are they so obsessed with my beauty?

WHY ARE THEY SO OBSESSED WITH MAKING ME A BEAUTY QUEEN?

“you almost got yourself your first advertisement! but what did you just do?? you colored your hair!” napa hawak na lang si mom sa kaniyang sentido.

“that ad is about shampoo and you can’t get it if you have a damaged and colored hair! they really like your brown hair so they chose you as an ambassadress!”

“mukha na nga lang ang meron ka tapos gan’yan pa ang gagawin mo!” that hurt me.

my beauty is the only thing that matters. kung wala ako ng mukhang ‘to, wala rin akong kwenta.

and at last, i didn’t get that advertisement because i didn’t agreed to make my hair brown again. i stayed at pink.

“what am i without my face?” i ranted to Sanna, Lily and Blaire.

“you matter, Mione. you have your own worth and your parents might think that your beauty is the only thing that matters but no, every part of yourself matters. from your hair strands down to the tip of your toes.” Sanna, my full of advice bestfriend said.

“kahit maganda o pangit ka man, nandito kami. we will always stay even if you are no longer what you think is you.” she added.

“sorry, ah? wala kasing laman na advice utak ko ngayon.” Lily said that make us all laugh.

“this is for your parents.” Blaire said and raise her middle finger. “fuck them.”

Sanna is the most introvert, she is the mother of the group. she is the best person when it comes to advising. she compliments us alot, she knows everything even if we didn’t said a thing.

Lily is the most talkative one. marami siyang dalang mga jokes, siya ang pinaka nakakatawa. kapag may deep talks kami kagaya nito ay nag bibigay siya ng jokes para pagaanin ang lahat.

Blaire is the smartest one pero walang preno ang bibig. masakit siya mag salita dahil kasali siya sa debate club. sobrang galing niya mag-public speaking. madalas siya ang nagtatanggol sa amin kapag may mga bullies.

and me? they take care of me as the baby of the group. i cried alot, i’m so sensitive, and soft hearted. so they treat me like a glass that might’ve get broken.

i don’t know what will i do without them.

“what??? engagement party of Blaire?? when pa siya nagkaroon ng boyfriend? why did she only said this to us right now??” i got the most shock of my life when i knew from Lily that Blaire will have engagement party with the man we don’t know!

she never mentioned any guy to us. how did she already has a fiancé?

“we don’t have any other choice but to go.” Sanna shrugged. she also looked confuse.

“hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala, ate!” Lily said.

at the end, we came to her “engagement” party.

i was wearing pink gliterring dress that has a long cloth behind that’s reaching my toes because the front is just mini skirt length and i also tied my hair into a bun. my make up is douyin, it’s actually the type of make ups i’m using often. i have fox eyes so chinese make ups fit me the most.

Lily’s wearing a pastel yellow shining dress, it has a slit na pinapakita ang kaniyang isang paa. long sleeves ang kaniyang top. her hair is into half tied. she looked really good in yellow, it’s not obvious that her favorite color is yellow, right? if i’ll describe her appearance.. she’s mestiza, doe eyes, plump lips, pointed nose, pear shaped body, short height, pinkish cheeks and circle face shape. light brown ang kaniyang abot chest na buhok.

Sanna is wearing a emerald green gliterring dress. she looks really stunning in dark shades of green. she is infact, one of the few people who look good in green and will not look like a tree. it’s her favorite color too. she is a a bit morena, she also have that serene eyes, reddish lips, matangos na ilong, perfect jawline, coca-cola shaped body and black chest-length hair.

and now, while we are looking at the stage. we saw Blaire, wearing a white dress. it looks like Elsa’s dress in the new season. she was beside a man.

the man have an ash-grey hair, it caught my attention so fast. he also have that singkit na mata or so we called “chinitong” mga mata, matangos ang kaniyang ilong, kissable lips, perfect jawline, at ang kaniyang mestizong mga balat. para siyang koreano.
