You look around but the windows are bare
You hear a sound but there's no one thereThe other side of the bed is growing cold
Memories of his arms around you grow oldNow you wish that you begged him to stay
Alone in the dark, you're not safe until day
On your knees and prayInvisible eyes everywhere stare
Anxiously you rip our your hair
Speak if you dareThere's a hand reaching out from under the bed
Never mind it's a slipper instead
It's all in your headYou hear a bang as somebody knocks
You slip and slide and turn all the locksFight or flight
Stay alive until lightTap, tap, tap on the window pane
Breathing is the only thing keeping you saneWhispers grow and mix in the dark
Back against the wall, you're prey for the sharkNo one is safe in this make-believe hell
But no one will listen to the stories you tellFight
It's for your life, pick up your chinFlight
Run away while you can, it's no sin
