"Feel like it's been forever since I had my shit together.
I just do what I wanna in the heat of the summer.
If I could roll up another, baby, I could see in technicolor.
I just do what I gotta in the heat of the summer."

"You've sure got your father riled up," her mom told her as they talked on FaceTime the day after the fight.

"He's ridiculous," Andie huffed angrily, rolling her eyes.

"He called me in a panic last night, certain you're having sex with a boy in his house."

"Oh my god! I told him the truth and he doesn't even believe me! I'm not having sex in his fricken' house!" Andie growled. She was so annoyed with him.

"Are you having sex outside of his house?" Her mom asked carefully.

"No!"

"Calm down. I'm not mad at you," her mother said quickly.

"I know. I'm just so mad at him," Andie growled.

"He caught you making out with... is it Harry?"

"Yes," she grumbled.

"In the driveway?" Her mom asked with a big smirk on her face.

"Yeah," she said quietly, rolling her eyes again.

"After you got caught in a park after curfew by the police?" Her mom chuckled.

"It was stupid," Andie scoffed.

"What were you doing at the park?"

"Smoking crack on the merry-go-round," Andie said facetiously, using the same words she used with her father the night before.

"Andria," she scolded, trying to hold back her laugh.

"Harry took me down by the train tracks cause it's one of his favorite places," Andie told her honestly.

"Are you and him getting serious with one another?"

"No."

"He's taking you to his favorite places and making out with you... multiple times, I hear, and it's not getting serious?"

"No. Neither of us want anything serious," Andie said quietly.

"I can see all the way from here that you don't even believe the words you just said," her mother called her out.

"I'm leaving at the end of the summer," Andie reminded her.

"You like him," her mom said knowingly.

"Ugh," she groaned, squeezing her eyes shut.
