Emilia Rebecca McCall, grew up in Beacon Hills, California the majority of her life. She had a good childhood from what she can recall but it was short lived. Her once fun and loving home, filled with joy, was eclipsed by the shadows of domestic turmoil. Raised alongside her brother Scott McCall, their home became a battleground, witnessing their father's descent into alcohol-fueled chaos, always coming back home drunk in the middle of the night, causing their parents to fight. Their mother Melissa did everything she could to prevent them from seeing their father in this state. Scott did everything to shield this from Emilia by covering her ears whenever their parents started yelling. Their father never hit rock bottom until one night, when he and her mother got into a heated argument in the upstairs hallway. Emilia came out to see what the commotion was all about, causing her father to grab her by the wrist to steer her back to her bedroom.
Her father, Rafael did not expect Emilia to struggle against his grip, crying in pain. Causing Scott to step in, begging their father to let her go but Rafael ended up yanking his arm so hard that he fell down the stairs, hit his head on the landing and was knocked unconscious for several moments. Furious, Melissa ordered him to get out of the house. She was trying to get a drunk man out of her house, not her children father out of his life, but Rafael was so ashamed about what happened that he left his family and moved to San Francisco. Since then Emilia has hated her father for walking out on them and for not putting in the effort in getting better for the sake of her and Scott.
Being raised by a single mother for most of her childhood, she saw how hard her mom did everything to make sure they had a roof over head. Despite the darkness that clouded her youth, Emilia radiated positivity, her vibrant spirit touching the lives of those around her. Working alongside her brother at the animal clinic, Emilia also found solace in her role at the local ice rink, sharing her love of skating with eager children. She enjoyed her life every minute of it but little did she know, a fateful night in the woods would forever alter the course of her life, intertwining her fate with that of her brother and his best friend.
