Don't speak,
don't say a word,
it's best to be unheard.
Used to talk all the time,
then get yelled by.
"Shut up!" was all I heard,
took me years to learn.
Over the years,
little by little,
my words start to disappear.
Sometimes I let a few out,
then they scream out loud.
"Keep your mouth shut!" I say to myself,
why did I open up,
when I should have kept it on lock.
They've always complained that you talk to much,
well now it's enough.
Silence is what they wanted,
well now they got it.
