Indiya stood outside the bustling party, her curls bouncing gently in the evening breeze, a cascade of ebony framing her kalon features. Opposite hrr stood James, his expression typically devoid of emotion, observing the lively scene with detached curiosity. Despite the vibrant energy around them, they both seemed to exist in a realm of their own, separated by an invisible barrier from the revelry within. Yet, in that moment, amidst the laughter and music, a silent understanding passed between them, a fleeting connection in a world where emotions often remained unspoken.

"I'm taking you home," he declared, his voice breaking the quietude. However, as his words hung in the air, Indiya hesitated, her thoughts drifting to her friend Kez, lost amidst the throng of the party.
Despite James's offer, she couldn't shake the weight of Kez's absence. "I need to find my friend first." Indiya uttered. I'm not letting you go back in there." he said firmly, his voice carrying a sense of protective resolve. "Well can i atleast try calling her before we leave?" she said with pleading eyes.

"You don't gotta ask me, baby" His words carried an undeniable authority, a reminder of his protective stance. The unexpected endearment caught Indiya off guard, her cheeks flushing with a sudden rush of warmth. As she fumbled for her phone, a shy smile tugged at her lips. Indiya dialed Kez's phone, she waited anxiously for her friend to pick up.

Eventually, Kez's voice came through the line, slightly muffled by the noise of the loud music from the party echoing in the background. "Indiya, Hey! Ive been looking for you, but it seems you're all good, and before you ask i'm alright," Kez exclaimed over the phone, her words punctuated by bursts of laughter. "I'm having the time of my life here girlie! There's this hot ass boy i met and he's been hitting on me all night, and when i tell you girl hes one sexy white boy!" Indiya couldn't help but smile at Kez's excitement, relieved to hear her friend's voice.

However, her relief turned to surprise as Kez continued, explaining that she wouldn't be able to take her home but would send her money for a taxi. Before Kez could respond, Indiya was quick to tell Kez that there was no need to send her money. "Oh it's fine someones taking me home." the girl said reassuring her friend that she would be fine. "Get home safe girl." and with that the call ended.

James's stoic demeanor remained unchanged as he glanced at Indiya. "We should get going," he said, his voice steady and unwavering. "I don't want you catching a cold out here." he said, his eyes never leaving hers. "Y-Yeah" the girl said trying to hide her tense manner. Indiya had never really been alone with a boy in her life. Ecxepet for her brother, though i wouldnt say he counts. Indiya followed him to his car, though she was about to open the door herself James brought it upon himself to hold the passenger door for her, a small gesture that spoke volumes of his consideration.

As she settled into the seat, James moved around the car with practiced efficiency, slipping into the driver's seat before starting the engine. The soft hum of the car filled the air, a comforting backdrop to her journey home. In that moment, as they drove through the night, Indiya couldn't help but feel a sense of security in James's presence, a silent reassurance that transcended his stoic facade.

As James drove, Indiya's gaze wandered, her attention drawn to the intricate patterns of veins that traced along his hands gripping the steering wheel. She found herself inexplicably captivated by the sight, a newfound appreciation for the rugged allure of his features. Lost in her reverie, she didn't notice at first when James spoke, his voice pulling her back to the present moment. "What street do you live on?" he asked, his tone patient yet expectant. Startled, Indiya blinked, momentarily flustered by her distraction.

"Oh, sorry," she stammered, her cheeks flushing with
embarrassment. Quickly composing herself, she told him the necessary directions, hoping James didnt catch her eyeing him. As he neared Indiya's, the girl couldn't shake the lingering memory of James's hands, an unexpected fascination that lingered in the corners of her mind.

James pulled up in front of Indiya's house, the engine humming softly as he brought the car to a stop. With practiced ease, he turned off the ignition and turned to face her. "We're here." he said quietly. Indiya met his gaze, feeling a mix of gratitude and reluctance to part ways.

As she reached for the door handle, James's voice cut through the silence once more. "Sleep good, baby," he murmured, the endearment hanging in the air like a whispered promise. Indiya's heart skipped a beat at his words, Oh my gosh, she thought. With a murmured thanks, she stepped out of the car, watching as James drove off into the night, leaving her standing there in a daze, her mind still reeling
from the unexpected intimacy of their encounter.
