TTLOTFK = The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys (the comic series/music video basis)
So. Backstory.
In 2019 (the "future"; the series was written in 2010, so that is a while in the future from then), California is a giant desert due to nuclear warfare. The only city remaining is the fictional Battery City, controlled by a company called Better Living Industries, or BLInd. They distribute things called "happy pills" to citizens, which when ingested, remove the person's emotions -- all of them. That causes most people in Bat. City to be very dull and plain, wearing mainly white clothing. The leader of BLInd is simply called "The Director", and Korse (the bald guy) is her number one henchman, responsible for eliminating anyone who disagrees with BLInd.
That includes the "Killjoys". They are a group of rebellious, colorful, and often punk-looking people who live in the desert in California, outside the city. These people don't use their real names, but instead make up funky two-word nicknames for themselves as another act of rebellion. There are a lot of different groups of Killjoys, but the most well-known ones are the "Fabulous Four" -- their names are "Party Poison", "Fun Ghoul", "Kobra Kid", and "Jet Star". They are responsible for taking care of a young girl who isn't named -- she's simply called "The Girl". The Girl is an important part of a supposed prophecy, so she's really important.
But then, the Fab Four lose The Girl while they're out joyriding in the desert and being a little too reckless. (I won't put the video here, but the song is called "Na Na Na", by My Chemical Romance.) Korse ends up kidnapping The Girl and taking her to BLInd, but the Fab Four chase after him, breaking into the building. They get The Girl safely out, but they all sacrifice themselves in the process (as seen in "SING").
^ That was the music videos. Now, the comics dive into more detail.
The comics focus on The Girl as she travels through the desert alone, with a stray black cat and an old radio host named Dr. Death Defying, to guide her. Along the way, The Girl also encounters a group of Killjoys called the Vs. Their leader, Val Velocity, is rude and arrogant (and even kills Dr. Death; I don't remember why) but he mellows out near the end. He travels with two twins, Vaya and Vamos (I don't think either of them are gendered).
*sigh*
Now for some of the side stories in the comics.
First of all, there's Korse. He's gay. He's got a boyfriend. And being in love isn't allowed in Bat. City, because that's feeling emotions. So The Director lady ends up killing Korse's unnamed boyfriend herself. This leads Korse to finally realize that BLInd aren't good people, so he rebels and leaves the city with a picture of his boyfriend on the dashboard of his car, his fate remaining unknown.
Second of all, more gay romance! Side story number two. There's two android ladies, named Red and Blue (they have red and blue hair). They're lesbians for each other. But Red is dying because her battery is running low, and she doesn't have a replacement one. So Blue sets out to find a power source for Red. Unfortunately, I don't remember if she finds one. (I don't think so; I THINK they both just die together, but I don't remember.)
Neither of these side stories coincide with The Girl's adventure; I assume they were just added to give the story more depth and show how BLInd's tyranny affects people inside the city.
*cough cough cough* Okay that was extremely long and rambly. Uh, here's what everyone looks like.
