I woke up to the sweet smell of the ocean. The wind was like a warm hug that gave you the type of feeling to abandon all of your earlier worries. "Dis be Siren's Sea." I frowned, "No such thing! I've studied maps as a child, and I have read about no such place!" Shenzie smiled, "Ah, but it is real, darlin. It be de safest place in de world, or the most dangerous according to how y'go about dis place."

I looked around at the crystal water that was clear enough to see all the way to the bottom. There was no way this place could be dangerous......oh. I saw the dark spots in the distance realizing that they were the hollow skeletons of ships. "How? There's nothing to hit?"

"Some tings are easier ta explain when seen wit ur own eyes, yes? Y' wanted ta learn de secrets of de ship, but ye refuse ta see what's right in front oh ya." I took in what she was saying and let it sink in.

"You are saying that the answers are in front of me, yes?" She nodded with a smirk and left to begin waking the sleeping crew scattered about the deck. I focused on the details around me, and locked onto her slim form. The trinkets in her hair; the way she carries herself; her eyes.

Since the beginning, I knew something was different about her. She was almost alien. Her hair held flawless pearls from the deepest parts of the ocean, coins from across the known world, and even some fish bones. The way she walked was an art form in itself. She swayed with the boat making it seem that she was motionless even though the ship rocked beneath her feet, and you never heard her footfalls even though she wore heeled boots.

She glanced back at me and a look crossed over her face letting me know she caught on to my observations. She whispered into a sleeping pirate's ear and he smiled in his sleep before he woke up with a renewed freshness about him even though I knew he'd only had a couple hours of sleep.

"She's a siren...." Shenzie froze from across the deck and stood erect to look me in the eyes with her gold ones slanted "How dare ya compare me ta dose witches?! I spit in de water dose vixens slither in!" She closed the distance between us and I could almost hear her heart pounding from anger.

"What's going on here?" She never took her eyes off me, but I looked back to see Finn standing on the upper deck with a concerned look. "She tinks I'm a siren! Of all tings in de sea, a bloody siren!" Some of the crew laughed, but Finn didn't seem amused by whatever inside joke they knew.

Finn came to her side and placed his hands on her shoulders saying calming words to her that I couldn't understand. He turned her towards the stairs leading to the bowels of the ship, and she followed suit going down into the darkness muttering curses under her breath.

"You shouldn't call names on this ship. You'll more than most offend someone." I frowned, "Then what else could she possibly be?! The trinkets in her hair; the way she appeared on the Voyager naked!?" He smirked, "There's millions of possibilities, but a siren isn't one of them."

He looked to where Shenzie had disappeared to and fixed his hat, "She's not one you should ever upset, Miss Lawrence." I shook my head and crossed my arms, "Then tell me what's going on on this god forsaken ship!" The crew began to stare and listen in to the conversation, but I didn't care; I wanted to know. Captain Finn looked at his crew with a smile, "Miss Lawrence wants to know what's going on on my ship! Imagine that!"

The men bellowed with laughter, but I found no humor in it. Finn's smile disappeared and he silenced them with a glare before looking down at me, "This is not an ordinary ship, Miss Lawrence. Just as we are not ordinary pirates. In fact, we're not pirates at all in the literal term, but a crew all the same. You see, we only have one more treasure to find, and then we are headed home. Until then, it would be wise to keep your head down and stop accusing my crew of preposterous things, Miss Lawrence."
