Poem 13

You didn't forget all the times we shared,
You didn't forget every time I held your hand,
You didn't forget all the times you made me smile,
Even if it was just for a little while,

You didn't forget the kisses we shared,
The love to show each other we cared,
It wasn't a summer fling,
You didn't forget one thing,

You didn't forget all the cringey, sappy stuff I said,
The hike and many walks in the park,
And how I acted like an idiot when I bowled a strike,
You didn't forget none of it,

But with pleasure comes pain,
That pain is enough to drive you insane,
To be wanted, to feel accepted,
To hear certain words that cut deep,
It makes me wish that you did forget that part,
Maybe then it wouldn't hurt so much,

There's no doubt that you remember the promises I made,
The ones I swore to keep,
And the poems and songs I wrote,
But Baby those things show that I love you,
Way down deep,

Deeper than I ever thought about loving someone,
Deeper than I could have ever imagined,
Deeper than I could ever touch within my soul,
So deep, I can't even try to change it,

It doesn't matter to me anymore what anybody says,
I'll still love you the same,
I've dealt with enough in this life,
Even way before you came,

I love you so much,
You wouldn't even know,
I love you so much,
With my whole heart and soul ❤️
