She tried to wiggle her hand out of his hold, but his grip only tightened.

As they made their way to the parking lot, Siddharth couldn't shake the feeling of satisfaction at having the last word in their exchange. But as they reached his car, he noticed Mukul still watching them with a puzzled expression.

"What's the matter, Mukul?" Siddharth asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.

Mukul cleared his throat nervously before speaking.

"Uh, sir, it's just that... you have never dropped any employee home before," he pointed out hesitantly.

Siddharth's gaze flickered to Nidhi, who was waiting by the car with crossed arms and a scowl still firmly in place. He hadn't even realised the significance of his actions until Mukul pointed it out.

"Is that a problem, Mukul?" Siddharth asked, his tone sharp.

Mukul quickly shook his head.

"N-no, sir, not at all," he stammered, looking flustered.

Siddharth ignored Mukul's discomfort as he turned to Nidhi.

"Where do you live?" he asked brusquely, his tone devoid of any warmth.

"I live in Kurla," she replied, her tone guarded.

She didn't want to go with him, but she didn't even know where they were and how long it would take to reach her home. That is the only reason why she was not making a fuss even after the condescending way in which Sid talked to her. Her safety was her priority now and for some bloody strange reasons, she felt safe with Siddharth Raichand.

Siddharth nodded curtly before gesturing for her to get into the car. As they drove back through the bustling traffic, an uncomfortable silence settled between them, broken only by the occasional honking of horns and the hum of the engine.

When they finally reached Nidhi's neighbourhood, the driver pulled up outside her house as pointed out by Nidhi and turned off the engine.

But before Nidhi could get out of the car, they were interrupted by the sight of her Bhadra Bua standing outside the house, engaged in conversation with a neighbour.

Nidhi's heart sank as she realised she would have to explain why she was arriving home in Siddharth's expensive car. She braced herself for Bua's disapproval as she stepped out of the car, followed closely by Siddharth and a bewildered Mukul.

"Bua," Nidhi greeted hesitantly, her voice tinged with apprehension.

Bhadra Bua turned to see who was addressing her and her eyes widened in surprise at the sight of Siddharth and his assistant standing before her, along with her neice.

"Nidhi, who is this?" She asked, her tone tinged with suspicion.

Nidhi swallowed nervously, unsure of how to explain Siddharth's presence.

"Bua, this is my boss, Mr. Raichand, and his assistant, Mukul ji," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Bhadra Bua's eyes narrowed as she scrutinised Siddharth and Mukul, clearly unconvinced by Nidhi's explanation.

"And what are they doing here?" She demanded, her tone sharp.

Siddharth stepped forward, his demeanour cool and composed.

"We had a meeting outside the office, Mrs. Parinidhi was a part of the meeting and since we were passing by, we thought we would drop Parinidhi home," he explained smoothly, his tone polite yet distant.

Bhadra Bua's expression softened slightly at Siddharth's explanation, but she still eyed him warily.

"Well, since you are here, why don't you come inside for some tea?" She suggested, her tone, more hospitable now.

Nidhi's eyes widened in horror and she shook her head in a no. Seeing her discomfort, Siddharth readily accepted the invitation, amused by her angry expressions.

As they entered the house, Siddharth couldn't help but feel a sense of unease at being in such unfamiliar surroundings. But as he glanced at Nidhi, who was shooting him a glare of annoyance, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of amusement at the situation they found themselves in.

"So? How is Nidhi at work? Is she troubling you, Mr Raichand?"
