Tree-house redesign

(Darius's POV)
I finished my food first and went to count the rest of our cans. "We need to find more food quickly" I say to the group loudly. "We'll look tomorrow, right now it looks like a storm might roll in. We'll have to wait it out through the night" Ben reported back and got up. I noticed he barely ate his part of the food and it worried me. "If anyone wants my leftovers go ahead." Ben said and walked to the top floor. Kenji instantly grabbed Ben's food without a second thought.

(Ben's POV)
I sighed and started to over think again. What if they don't want me here. I mean I still don't have a bed after how long of being back with the group? They probably only keep me here cause of pity from the monorail. I sat on the ground letting my mind wonder. "You can sleep in my bed if you want Ben." Darius scared me and it took a while to process what he said to me. "Oh no thanks it's your bed" I felt like I'd be a burden to take his bed.

"Sorry we couldn't get you a bed or at least a mattress.." Darius walked over and sat by me then smiled. What was his plan here was he trying to make fun of me or something, or am I just over thinking things. "It's not y'all's fault" I say trying to put every word together perfectly.

"You can still use my bed" Darius changed subjects. "It's your bed dude you should sleep in it" I protested.

(Darius's POV)
I started to get annoyed by the bickering and dragged him to the bed. "We can both share it then" I said and made room for him. He hesitated but then laid down and almost instantly fell asleep. It took everything in me not to laugh. I turned away from Ben and started to fall asleep.

Timeline- near midnight

(Ben's POV)
There was a large crack of thunder and I swore I felt the treehouse shake. I woke up and saw Darius was gone. I wasn't scared just confused but decided to lay back down. That's when I realized I was shivering. Even with the thin blanket on me it was absolutely freezing. I sighed and got up to find the others. "Oh look he is alive!" Kenji said. They were all on the couch awake. "Why are y'all on the couch?" I said while shivering and shaking from the cold. "We're staying warm, also we can't sleep during storms" Darius said and smiled offering me a blanket. It was actually a medical blankets you see people get in movie and it felt nice.

I decided to go see if bumpy was alright and went to the railing to the treehouse. I see bumpy is gone and I start to panic. "Ben you okay?" I can't tell who's talking my heart is racing. Without a thought I run to the ladder but jump down not wanting to waste time. Once I hit the ground I feel a small pain but it's not enough to stop me. "BEN WAIT!!" I don't look back at whoever said that.

(Darius's POV)
We watch Ben dart to the ladder and just jump?! I was too stunned to talk but ran over to see if he was alright. The others followed and watched him limped then start running full force again. "BEN WAIT!!" Sammy yelled. Without thinking I was already climbing down the ladder to go after him. I ended up dropping my blanket the moment I saw Ben jump.

(Others POV)
"Come on guys we need to go get them" yaz said and ran down the slippery slide. "Carful yaz" Sammy said concerned. Kenji slid down while Brooklynn and Sammy climbed down the ladder. We all ran after the two num nuts like we always do. "Why is it always them two?!" Yaz yelled. We all got separated very quickly from the darkness.

Location- jungle woods

(Ben's POV)
I was running but slowed down when bumpy's tracks faded way too much for me to see. "BUMPY!!!" I panic. I should have been there to comfort her. "BUMPY I'M SORRY!" I started to run aimlessly in the jungle just hoping I'd find her. I kept bashing myself for her running off like I could have done anything. I see something move out the corner of my eye. For a moment I think it's bumpy but when I turn I notice it's tall.

I hurriedly climbed up a tree. I watch as the one horned predator tried to get me. "Damn it..." I give in and just hold my head in my heads and let myself cry.

Timeline- 15-20 minutes later
--------------------------

I grabbed some berrys/acorns from the tree branch and threw them at the predators head tormenting it. Anything to distract myself from Bumpy being lost cause of my carelessness. The thing jumped trying to reach me but it wasn't a big enough jump. The predator shrilled so load it made me think my ear drums busted. It didn't help it was lightning loudly to so my ears were hurting from that. I covered my ears as I started to get a headache. Ever since I fell from the monorail I experienced way better hearing like some super sense. I'm not sure how it happened but it comes in useful at sometimes and other times it feels like my ears are bleeding.

(Others POV)
Sammy and Darius accidentally ran into each other and screamed. "AHHHHHHHH" "SAMMY!" Darius hugged Sammy. "I think we need the buddy system" Brooklynn said while walking up to the other two with yaz and Kenji with her. "I'm glad y'all are okay." Darius said loudly. He'd look around for any sign of Ben. "Do y'all hear that roaring?" Darius asked while ushering the group behind a tree. "Look over there" kanji said after a crack of thunder lit up the jungle. Everyone else flinched from the sight.

Yaz saw something hit the dinosaur when the second crack of thunder hit. "Why is it focused on the tree?" Sammy asked. "Someone tormenting it." Yaz pointed to its head to show the berry hitting its head. "Why would Ben do that" Darius said annoyed. Kenji looked up at the tree to see the small figure sitting up there.

(Ben's POV)
I decided to stop throwing the berries mainly because I ran out also because I was crying again. I kept feeling a small jab in my knee and look over to see it's bleeding. I must have done it when jumping down from the treehouse. The ceratosaurus must have heard something better for it started to run away. At least that's what I thought until I heard a familiar roar. "BUMPY!" It swung from the tree to the ground and instantly got trampled by 5 different people.

"Don't run off like that dumbass!" Darius scolded. I nervously chuckled. "Can we please go home now it's cold and the wind is getting stronger." It was Brooklynn who complained this time. I nodded and broke free from the hug so I could hug my dinosaur. The others started to walk back. I was about to join when bumpy all the sudden knocked me over and stood over me. Bumpy would roar in distressed and she stood weirdly like she was holding her ground. The others must have noticed cause they came back and tried to calm bumpy down.

I looked around now covered in mud but could barely see shit from how dark it was. I heard how loud the wind was and it started to come together like a puzzle that bumpy was warning us of the storm probably a hurricane. "Is it me or did the rain get heavier?" Sammy said confused. Everyone crouched down thinking bumpy may be scared of a dinosaur. "Ben come on we need to go!" Darius said. "Ben calm your stupid Dino down!!!!" Kenji yelled.

I tried to crawl out from underneath bumpy but she made sure to stay standing over top of me. "Yeah leaving is a no go" I tell Darius. Darius starts to stand and instantly gets jerked away by the wind. "Darius!" Brooklynn tries to grab him and end up getting thrown into a tree. I instantly pulled the rest of the group under bumpy but we obviously stick out a bit. "We need to go find them!" Kenji yelled at me. "We need to stay under bumpy so we don't experience what flying feels like!" I protest with him. "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM MAN YOU'VE BEEN SO WEIRD EVER SINCE YOU REJOINED THE GROUP!" Kenji tried to leave but luckily Sammy stopped him this time. "Once the storm passes we'll go looking for them!" Yaz says sternly to Kenji.
