As the night began to come to a close, he approached Avery as she stood from her seat, his smile warm and inviting as he came to stand in front of her.

"A few of us are going to keep the party going, care to join?" Brandon asked as he leaned in closer, his cologne enveloping her senses.

"Thank you for the invite, but I have plans. My ride is outside," Avery politely declined.

"Then let me walk you out," Brandon offered, extending his arm for her to take.

"Honestly, there is no need," she smiled. "My ride is right out front."

"I insist," Brandon said, looking into her eyes.

Avery hesitated for a moment, feeling the intensity of his gaze. She could see the genuine kindness in his eyes, but she couldn't help but think about Omar waiting for her in Atlanta.

With a polite smile, she relented and took his arm, allowing him to escort her out of the restaurant. As they walked towards the exit, she couldn't shake off the feeling of Brandon's presence beside her.

Once they reached the door, Brandon turned to her, his expression soft.

"Thank you for coming tonight, Avery. I hope you had a good time," he said, his eyes searching hers.

Avery nodded, offering him a warm smile. "Thank you for inviting us, Brandon. It was a lovely evening."

As she stepped outside, she spotted her ride waiting for her, and with a final wave to Brandon, she got into the car. As they drove away, she couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Brandon's gesture had been kind, but her heart longed for the connection she had with Omar.

Deep down, she knew where her heart truly belonged.

Heading home, Avery removed her heels and did a quick spin of her house to make sure everything was neat and tidy before Omar arrived to spend the weekend at her place.

They had a conversation in Miami where Omar said he'd be the one to come to her more often, as thus far it was Avery who often traveled back and forth to see him. All he'd requested was that they made no plans and outside of his compulsory training, all he wanted to do was chill with her.

Avery couldn't help but smile at the thought of spending a relaxing weekend with Omar. Despite the lingering feeling of Brandon's presence from earlier, her heart felt at ease knowing that she would soon be wrapped in Omar's arms.

As she settled in at home, a sense of peace washed over her. She tidied up the living room, lit a few scented candles, and put on some soft music in the background, setting the mood for Omar's arrival.

When the doorbell finally rang, Avery's heart skipped a beat. She opened the door to find Omar standing there, a wide smile on his face as he pulled her into a warm embrace.
